I can't find the article but some guy came through the Michinoku Pro dojo while he was doing squats and gave him the name. Kenoh said he picked the guy's brain while he was there to get out of doing squats. I wanna say it was like Mochizuki or someone Dragon Gate affiliated.

I don't know who Dragon Dia pissed off to get put in a singles match against Cyber Kong.

Just a reminder that this is on in about 8 hours from when I post it, which is to say 4am UK time & 11pm EST, 8pm PST. So if you're a Yank it's a good time to get in & watch some Susumu Yokosuka live.

It's possible they filmed the 3 days worth in one block which is why there's no non-tournament matches.

Totally worth the subscription price anyhow, I enjoyed those. Nothing stand-out but perfectly fun, and it's always fun for me to see what the kids I remember from Toryumon are up to now. Thanks for the pointer!

this taping was done at least week ago from the theater in kobe where they've done their dojo shows/prime zone since the wrestlers took over the company in 2018. haven't heard anything from people in the office, but it's possible that it's all in the can right now.

Anyone have any experience with / opinions of Dove Pro? They just dropped a bunch of shows on IWTV, and the product looks very polished for a hardcore oriented indie. Currently watching GAINA and TORU vs Chris Dickinson and Tida Heat, which is set to a grime soundtrack. I didn't think the music would work when the match started, but it's actually added a lot to the watching experience.

My knowledge about them is that Brother YASSHI, Dragongate regular, works there & that a bunch of the sleazy Ratels' guys were Dove Pro guys before going to NOAH (Hayata, Yo Hey & maybe Tadasuke). Other than that, hell, I thought that much like Osaka Pro & Dragongate they were based in Kansai but apparently not.

Dove Pro is the main project of the same guys that so the Makai shows that Shida was a part of. I think I saw one of their canned nico broadcasts and it was pretty cool. Pretty cutting edge because of the theater aspects.

I haven't seen much of their stuff but they had a really great Rina Yamashita vs GUNSO match which led to Rina getting into intergender deathmatch stuff and that's enough for me to say they're good. The music in the matches is good and GUNSO takes that gimmick with him when he wrestles in other promotions.

The sleazy aesthetic is great too.

This is technically Joshi but screw it; its a cool thing and its somewhat related to this.

There's a bit of a history of Japanese Wrestling farmers; one of the ways that Meiko Satomura does with Sendai Girls is that the roster work on local rice farms at peak times - mainly planting season and harvest season: the times they need the most labour. Sort of a perfect situation for them: they get paid for this work which helps keep the lights on (which has really helped since the planting season coincided with the COVID shutdown and since its important work they still did it); its good PR and gets them attention plus its probably a positive for younger wrestlers especially to get a bit of experience doing something outside wrestling even if they don't go into farming later on. This is different from Nakanishi helping out his Dad but I think its an interesting thing that people might want to know.

Also Champion Carnival will also rule, glad it's got a date. And hope Nomura is ready to go to take the Triple Crown from Suwama after winning the Carnival.
