When I started playing I was finding cosmetics in a bunch of containers all over DC. It dried up after a while. Is this because there's a set amount of stuff you can find in the open world or are the pickups static and I've found all of the obvious ones?

The selection is pretty disappointing, and I've found my character's look by now. But. You know. Stuff for my stuff box.

You got them all. I went through the same thing, where I felt like there had to be more, but the free/non-lootbox selection is pretty limited.

Yep. I still get new clothing items from the in-game currency vendor in Div1 after like 800 hours, but I was done with the 'free' drops in Div2 after 100. Everything else is from apparel events or opening the randomized boxes.

I'm not surprised, but it's good to know. I'm usually not the kind of person who spends money on microtransactions, but with the amount of time I'm spending on this game they could probably have coaxed some cash out if me if the selection was better.

Even more limited is what you can get by using whatever the yellow currency is you get for dupes. drat near everything requires actual dollars in dues. But idgaf because your armor covers it all anyhow

Most of the drops are free anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it, and they added a separate "free" currency for buying cosmetics that's specifically for new players. You missed a few exclusive masks tied to events but that's about it.

You'd think they'd give an option to hide your armor so people would want to buy more cosmetics, but for some reason they really want to force everyone to stay tacticool.

So having completed all the main story missions, done with Tier 5, unlocked all the additional specialisations and just have the final few side quests to complete I've just seen that WoNY is on sale on the UK PSN store for 30% off.

I feel I've got an pretty amazing amount of fun just pootling around the base game (which i got for £8) that another £18 seems pretty reasonable for more of the same. Just a pain that I'm finally approaching the stage when I'm just about finished filling out my recalibration library and now I gather that I've got to restart all the loot+gear collection / library filling as it's all now obsolete with the expansion.

actually honestly gently caress this game. i just remembered how much time i spent running in from playing the game to go and delete guns i looted one by one. it doesnt deserve anybody playing it frankly so anything they have is a blessing they should be thankful for

its fun and the literal only ppl i recommend it to are those that i think i can sucker into playing a free $10 game ill buy them

You seem angry about a game that's not really your thing anymore. Are you for some reason unable to play anything else?

I mean, I really like the game for two or three weeks at a time, then I wander off and play something else for a bit until I get the itch to shoot and loot again. Usually there's new content or a system revamp by then and I get to explore the game all over until I wanna play something else. It's not like there's a shortage of games out there.

I like that the back half of the season rewards are pretty unexciting so I don't feel bad that I'm probably going to end up around 50, most of that coming just from doing the manhunt stuff. If there was a super cool outfit at the end instead of just a gear dye, I still wouldn't drop 50 dollars just to finish leveling, and this late in probably wouldn't go crazy trying to get 50 more levels either, but this way I don't resent them for making me feel like I missed out on something awesome.

I guess the flip side is that if I'd played enough to hit 100 I might be disappointed that it didn't culminate in something better. It'll be interesting to see how they decide to handle it in future seasons, since on the one hand they want to give people incentives to keep playing, but on the other hand they want people to feel like they get enough out of the pass even if they don't hit 100 that they'll buy it.

I know if you buy Ubisoft games on Steam you have to register them to a uplay account when you launch them. Once you do that you don't even need Steam any more. Unfortunately I don't know if the same is true for EGS. There may be additional complications when its an expansion.

I guess maybe try to find someone who bought an Assassin's Creed game or Anno or something on EGS? That could at least tell you if a game is registered on uplay after launching it on EGS. The expansion question remains though.

So here's something interesting: after you've finished the manhunt, if you reset your progress and do them again, each of the main targets (Neptune, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter) can drop season items. This drop pool includes items that are otherwise DZ only. I've gotten new copies of Manic, Good Times and Everlasting Gaze, which don't drop in the LZ outside of this specific case. You might get unlucky and also get items that can already be dropped in the LZ, but at least this is something of an incentive to replay the manhunt.

Deleting items is annoying because it's still inventory management. The fact that you can spend time doing it one by one to disintegrate them doesn't really phase me from a gameplay perspective

That's fine if you don't understand or like my posting , that's largely how I feel about the game you love with regards to it's itemization and loot.

The loot being broken was a reference to the fact that the itemization has been revamped a number of times, which, it sounds like you just may be unfamiliar with

I don't hate this game and I know how the loot works and it may surprise you that my distaste for it is based on managing it at all, and the fact that a loot shooter had completely incomprehensible loot for...idk.. most of its existence.

I'm not going to go to reddit and we can literally discuss this forever, I'm getting paid to post at you right now and it's the end of the world.

I just wish they would bring back ambient NPCs and clothing options from Division 1, I miss looking like a regular civilian instead of TIER 1 OPERATOR COMING THROUGH or a complete comedy clown.

I don’t miss having to craft all the attachments though. I love playing gun Barbie and Division 2 handles that so much better.

They should really just port in the original game maps and assets. Also underground. Please bring underground back.

Maybe for you? Your experience is not the only experience there is.

Isn't "inventory management" basically an assumed risk in any loot game? Maybe I'm misreading your text but having to handle items is kind of a necessary component of having items with incremental statistics.

Every one of your posts reads like someone who can't let go. Maybe of your anger or of your general sense of powerlessness to affect any larger situation. That honestly would make a lot of sense, because complaining to an indifferent void that something you actually like isn't quite exactly perfect fits that like the old datagloves in a skill build.

I ain't gonna tell you what to do, my fellow fan of a ludicrous looter shooter. I still think having weapon damage percent as a stat is fundamentally broken and should be removed entirely if you wanna fix most of the game's problems from a design doc level but that's my hill and you have yours.

The funny thing is, the most common complaint is that there aren't enough tacticool TIER ONE OPERATOR clothing options. Pretty much every pubbie either wears the tacticool poo poo from the Christmas apparel event or the White Tusk outfit.

I wish they'd let us recolor clothing, or just do it Div1 style and give us tons of color swaps of the basic clothing.

Also games with high level of character customization lead to some pretty hilarious pairings.

I'd love it if they added a ghillie suit because having the one guy running around like a dumb bush amidst a sea of operators is funny to me

That being said, I understand that most people that play this probably want to be an operator with, for whatever reason, a bookbag

That was one thing that really added to the atmosphere and gave it a human touch. I really liked the mechanic of giving citizens food in exchange for gear and cosmetics. You felt like you were helping people in need and you were rewarded for it with lots of cosmetics. Seeing the really sad scenes play out where people were dying on the street from the virus etc really made it feel like the world was bigger than you and the common person was struggling just to survive.

Now its like nobody in the world exists unless they're a green bar faction NPC shooting at a red bar faction NPC.
