When I bought my '08 from them a few years ago there were probably two dozen on the lot from various years. I think US sales of the Miata are a little rocky at the moment and dealerships have not ordered new stock due to COVID.

Short story: 91 I bought from my brother last year. I believe it has a new alternator. Battery toast after winter storage because I didn't put on a trickle. Jump it, drive it around, revs dipping when I put turn signal on, radio dying, etc. Dies on me close to home and I take the battery to Advance where the thing was from just a year ago or so, apparently. (Dated 3/19). They throw it on the slow charger for a few days and I come back and it still tests "replace," so I get a new one under warranty. I put the new battery in, car starts great, drives great. I take it for a long Memorial Day ride (60 miles), stop a few times, it starts great, that kinda stuff. I then park it a half mile from home for a quick booze stock up and it doesn't start. Click click click click click over and over. Walk home, my wife and I jump it with our other car, and get it home. What the heck? Where do I go from here?

drat, that's a robbins glass window canvas top. I have one on mine and while it was a huge bitch to get it on the frame, they look so good. Sad side is that they make the frame of the top sit up juuuust high enough that a hardtop won't clear it without basically sitting on the frame a little and squeaking away. e: fuuuuuuck it even has the IL motorsports upgraded center console. The clutch is light and manageable, and there's enough low-end torque to easily get started but not enough to toast the clutch. A brand new clutch is also easier to learn on than a worn one. I learned on an old NA and since I had no point of reference, I only found out it had a worn clutch because one of the bearings started making noise. Once I replaced it, I was surprised to find that the engagement point was not actually supposed to be 2/3 from the bottom.

Yeah, don't sweat learning manual in a new Miata. I had driven a manual before, but not owned one before my NC, and I was worried about messing up the clutch, but even doing a few stupid things, it's held up fine for over 80k miles so far. Just take your foot off the pedal when not shifting, and try to keep your shifts quick so you aren't slipping the clutch too much.

I spent a few hours learning the basics in my brothers 19 Impreza, but that's certainly not enough time to learn much. Comparing the two, at least by feel, I have a lot easier time in the Miata above first gear. I think the faster shift timing is more compatible and forgiving of my natural instincts. Getting into 1st on the other hand... I'm sorry to what felt like half my town this afternoon. If you assumed it was some idiot who bought a sports car he didn't know how to drive, that's uh, about it actually. I'm going to take tomorrow afternoon off and spend some time in the nearby high school parking lot. Probably should find somewhere to practice hill-starts though, it feels like the Miata's Hill Assist... doesn't assist really, at least at lower grades. Or maybe it's just because I panicked and didn't let it engage, but that doesn't sound like me at all. No, it is the car who is wrong.

For me a difficult thing with manuals is starting from a red light and the vehicle in front of you doesn't accelerate as fast as you thought it would so you have to clutch in again and then re-engage still in 1st. If you can do that smoothly you'll be well on your way.

^^^ Yeah that's annoying but if you're still in first, its usually enough to just let off the gas and it'll slow down enough, can be pretty jerky though. I essentially learned to drive manual on a Miata too. It wasn't too difficult but at least my NB requires waaay more precision and speed from you than generic VAG econoboxes I've been driving as rentals recently. There you have like a minute to shift, the gates are pretty wide and you don't have to match the revs at all, it all gets smoothed out. My boyfriend drove it home for me, gave me a crash course on driving stick in a parking lot, and planned to let me use his car until I was comfortable with it. The next morning, I was getting ready to leave for work in his car when I thought, "Well, let me see if I can get the Cobalt around the block...." "Okay, that went fine, let me see how I do to the end of the street...." ....and then just kept going until I got to work. Other than stalling twice, that was all it took.

I just installed the flyin' miata fox coilovers in my ND2 and hooooly poo poo they are amazing. I can not recommend them enough. All of the body roll is completely eliminated and the car feels so much more composed. They're also still very compliant. Super comfortable on the highway and poor quality roads.

I lowered mine by like an inch but you should be able to keep ride height similar stock. I didn't do sways as the FM sways didn't seem all that much beefier than the stock ones. For what it's worth, I also had the club model and they are a pretty massive upgrade over the Bilsteins.
