Near as I can tell the only violence done by protesters has been in self defense. (Property damage is vandalism, not violence)

The mere implication that this man's behavior is a product of ASD or should otherwise because excused because he's on the spectrum is loving disgusting.

Anyway, as if we're not in a Verhoeven movie enough check out this picture of people protesting outside of OCP headquarters.

One time we marathoned the extended trilogy on my friend's tv. She refused to turn off the supermotion and it nearly ruined the 14-hour experience. Every special effect and green screen became obvious. The scene where Frodo and Sam first witness the oliphants marching through the forest was the worst case. The foreground and background suddenly contrasted and made the barrier between them obvious, like a tv screen on a themepark ride.

Sometimes. But not always. It's common for people to complain about the seams (not always literally) being visible on old movies. But that doesn't bother me because it's just a sort of record of that era's film making. I mean there is definitely stuff I think looks like poo poo, but that stuff probably always looked like poo poo. But seeing the boxes around the TIE Fighters or the strings lifting up cars or robots or spaceships are just what a movie was at that time. It's no less magical.

Oh sure I love seeing the work put into all those old movies and I think it makes them in many ways more charming and valuable than modern ones where all the same effects are just done with thousands of hours of computer animation done by people who never even met the cast and crew. I'm just saying it ruins the illusion, what used to be seamless now has no chance of fooling the eye.

That makes sense. However, talking poo poo about Blade because of the goofy CGI at the end of the movie makes you a bad movie because Blade is a masterpiece.

The casting in that film is basically perfect. Ben Affleck absolutely nails the poo poo-eating grin during the press conference as it's described in the book.

This feels like a false equivalence. I'm pretty sure the casts of Star Trek: The Motion Picture and RoboCop (to use two famous matte painting examples) never met Matt Yuricich or Rocco Gioffre.

Also, you're missed in the horror Discord. Very much so.
