For everyone who bought this chair: https://www.autonomous.ai/office-chairs/ergonomic-chair?option20=50 I have a protip: Put the arms on the wrong side. The arms cant forward when put on correctly and when I raised the arm rest up to support my elbows they hit the leading edge of my desk when I roll my chair forward. When they're put on the wrong side they lean backwards allowing me to raise the arms high enough to support my elbows and allow me to roll my chair close to my desk where I'm comfortable. Note: I only found this out because I put the chair together with the arms on the wrong side to begin with, swapped the arms to the correct sides, and realized I had made things worse.

re cheap earbuds: A few months ago I got these on amazon for 50-ish bucks and the sound/mic/battery life is surprisingly good. Also they're my first bluetooth headphones that don't skip when I'm a room away from the source or have my phone in my pocket and line of sight is blocked by my large gross body.

Shoving a cliff bar up your rear end is a much better use for it than eating it

Hey goons, been wanting to buy a bike for exercise, and realized I have absolutely no clue what I should be looking for. Mostly want to do laps around my neighborhood, and also be able to take it on some woody/hilly trails near my house. So I guess a mountain bike of some sort? Anyone have any suggestions? Something versatile and not too expensive. I currently have an old bmx bike that my friend let me borrow 8 years ago when I had a DUI, it doesn't have brakes, and not comfortable to pedal sitting down on the seat because its tiny and I'm tall.

Some mornings I try to make a coffee run (2 miles) and get back before my morning movement. It's more sensible to go before since there's one on deck. It's a dangerous game, a mildly extreme sport.

I've been using AfterShokz bone conducting headphones for a couple of years now for running and biking and I can't recommend them highly enough. About to upgrade to the newest model soon, as well. I've just never trusted earbuds to not fall out when exercising.

About to upgrade to the newest model soon, as well. I have tried nearly a dozen pairs of wireless headphones in search for ones I was happy with biking. The two big factors are that you don't want something that falls out (trying to find something important you dropped while biking in the road is not something I ever want to do again), and you also want something with little-to-no noise isolation so you can still hear what's going on around you. I have some mild issues with AfterShokz bone conducting headphones, but the only thing I've been happier with are the new(ish) Powerbeats Pros. I don't think I would recommend the Powerbeats Pros to someone who isn't extremely anal about the above properties like me, though, just because they are way too pricy. But those, the AfterShokz, and an older pair of Powerbeats 3s were pretty much the only ones I've been comfortable using on a bike.

Are Aftershockz loud enough for podcasts while biking? The wind noise can get pretty loud, and I wonder if they'd be audible over that.

Guess I'll continue the headphone chat with my own latest purchase. I bought Jabra Elite Active 75t to use as my workout/general purpose headphones while out. They fit nice, sound great, I don't feel like I'm ever in danger of having them just fall out, and the hear-through mode works while playing music so you can listen and still keep situational awareness provided you don't turn the tunes up too loud. So far the only thing I've found that was slightly annoying was some stuttering while trying to play music from my Active2 watch when worn on my left arm. Works fine when I wear it on the right arm tho, guess my big fat goony body is too much for bluetooth to pass through.

I haven't ever had any issues with not being able to hear them due to wind. I think they're a little better at not causing wind noise than other options, though it's hard to say. That being said, though, when I use them I typically have the volume maxed out so I'm definitely using them at the ceiling of their loudness.

Seconding these, better than any other model of Jaybirds or whatever exercise headphone I've ever had.

Airpods Pro solved all the issues I had with the original Airpods – they stay in, cancel noise (although you can turn that off) and are sweat resistant. Pricey ofc but I think that goes for most of the listed candidates.

Every time I put them on they play music for a second or two and then a harsh static sound and silence. Meanwhile my Aukey bluetooth earbuds that I treat like garbage are still going strong.

I’d buy more AirPods if there was any possible maintenance whatsoever. My batteries are all but dead in my pair and I’m not paying a biennial subscription of 140+ dollars to own headphones.

After futzing with the noise cancelling setting from off to noise canceling to transparent with the airpods still cutting out they pulled through and starting working again. If they're working I doubt Apple will replace them. I'll keep using them and see if they go sideways again. Thanks for the heads up though.

Apple hardware support is generally pretty good about making their luxury goods work if there is a clear failure mode. Sadly their previous generation of laptop keyboards were "working as intended." At least if they reject you out of hand you know next time what to do if you receive a similar product.

Bought my first apartment a few weeks ago. They had two open houses and no offers, so I'm hoping I got a good deal, I negotiated it down quite a bit. Needs some paint in a couple of rooms, but not much work. Accepting the keys on the 12th this month.

Does anyone have any recommendations on some outdoor USB chargers (preferably USB-C) wall warts? I would love to leave one plugged in on my apartment's balcony without wondering if it'll be totally fried after it rains or something.
