You also get counted for a wall bang kill if your bullets go through one enemy and kill another via the FMJ perk, or through one of your own teammates in general in a non HC match (in HC attempting this will just kill you and delete your bullet due to friendly fire)

Did you know that the ax 50 sniper does so much damage on headshots that it makes you eligible for friendly fire damage reflect instantly, even if it's the first occurrence in the match? One time I hit a teammate who walked in front of me as I shot and the bullet killed him, went through and also killed the guy I was actually aiming at, and then also also killed me because it applied the damage reflect. All 3 of us died and I got awarded a collateral wallbang headshot kingslayer buzzkill and a kill feed icon of me shooting myself in the head

Yeah I've been seeing a lot of Johnny Sins-es, Lana Rhodes-es, et al. The Mia Khalifa thing was a real example. Maybe some COD streamer told people to do it as a meme like that youtube trend with the JC Denton avatars.

Its literally muscle memory at this point because I do it so often, but every time I'm on shoothouse and I'm on the end of the map with all the cars, the shipping containers, and the little table to stand on for sniping, if I exit on the right side of that, I huck a grenade at the wall of the chokepoint at a 45 degree angle and bounce it back behind the other side of the wall because people love to camp there especially on hardpoint and domination and hit you as you come through the little choke point there. I'd say a good 70% of the time I kill someone or get hit markers and then turn the corner shooting. Bonus points for blowing up the cars there and taking someone out

First thing I do on every shoothouse is hop on the table first spawn and spray an entire 200 round belt of FMJ ammo downrange. It's pretty effective.

Surfaces reduce damage (e.g. shooting through a wall will reduce damage of the bullet), and some surfaces are thick enough that you can't shoot through them (e.g. concrete, thick trees.) The ideal situation for wallbangs are in the houses in warzone - the walls are very thin and if people try to use them for cover, you can just trace where they're going and get the kill through the stairs etc even if you don't have line-of-site. You can also shoot through ceilings and floors in some situations (e.g. if you see a beep on your heartbeat sensor right on your location in house, try shooting up through the ceiling.) Generally you should only do this if you absolutely KNOW where people are - otherwise you're giving away your position.

Re Wallbang Chat: It is super inconsistent. It does not adhere to logic. 99% certain it's based on the pretty standard material/thickness formula: game will try to trace a path through surfaces and calculate falloff based on the 'material' and distance through. Issue is where an object has multiple materials -visually- but not necessarily in the physics modeling. Often times this system is automatically tied to the texture materials for ease of implementation but again I'm guessing at how CoD does it. You can see this for yourself by shooting surfaces and noting the different impact scars and particles: there's a good variety like wood, dirt, concrete, metal etc. Some surfaces that seem bangable are not. Some that shouldn't be like Hesco barriers (these things https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesco_bastion ) are. Worst case you can try it for yourself in a custom game. Especially handy to know which corners and popular hiding spots are vulnerable.
