I do get why they refuse to just do the turn based thing. Nintendo doesn't really believe in recreating experiences within new games, and that's fair. Lots of turn based stuff is churned out anyways. I'm not afraid of change, just like, make sure whatever you slap in there is actually fun? Paper mario devs: no

Unironically excited to fight giant office supplies and I can only hope there are hidden megabosses like Photocopier, Graphics Tablet, and Server Rack. This is basically playing Sticker Star from the perspective of the enemies that the stickers are being used on.

So since they had a Mario RPG franchise already they went all in on the paper gimmick instead. Now that M&L is dead that might change for the next game or who knows. Nintendo is weird.

If you want a new Paper Mario game like the first two then play Bug Fables, which is charming as hell and actually pretty challenging on Hard Mode so far! I'll wait for a review for Origami King. I like how stupid the boss designs are, though.

Turn based yes. Traditional, no. I don't see exp points, I see a lot of coins, and I see item durability (along with the ring stuff and all that). But yeah it not being traditional or not aping earlier entries is fine, at least for me. The question is: will this new system be fun to play? It's been very hit or miss for this franchise as of late.

Is this basically the only time in the year that nintendo games go on sale? Here's what I have on switch, please tell me if there's any obvious holes in my switch game collection (and the game that is the hole is switch-only, and is on sale right now) Dark souls, BOTW, Mario odyssey, mario party, atelier l+s, astral chain. I have other games on switch but they're available on other platforms too.
