Game 4: Knicks win pivotal game 4 over Magic 128-114, lead series 3-1.

Giannis finished with 38 points, 21 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks. It also helped that he fouled out Kevin Love in 23 minutes. The Magic knew they had a shot this game but struggled on the defensive end. "This is partly on me." Gobert said after the game. "I have to defend the paint stronger and not let them have their way. It's just hard when the Greek Freak is romping around down there. They return to Orlando for game 5.

A pesky 3rd quarter was all the Sixers needed to pull away from the Celtics who played them close otherwise. "They're a tough team." Beal said after the game. "We had to shut down Jrue and not let him score 38 points again, but they still had chances to win the game. Like I said, we can't act like we won't lose this just because Durant is out. We need to fight every single game." The series goes back to Boston tied, and the Celtics are excited to play in front of their fans again.

Just when the Heat thought they were figuring out the Bulls, Kyrie pulls a 45 point, 10 assist game out of his bag of tricks and ties the series back up. "We know it's hard for them to beat us." Kyrie gloated a bit. "I mean, not to sound cocky, we're just a bad matchup for them and we take solace in the fact that we know how to frustrate them. I mean, that's our job out there." Lillard knew he struggled and promised fireworks for game 5. "Just watch." he said, cracking a wry smile.

Harden had a huge game, but the Wizards did enough on offense, and outscored the Pistons' bench to win a game 4 that was win or go home for the Wizards. "We aren't ready to be at home yet." Booker said, sweating heavily after the game. "It doesn't matter 1st seed, 8th seed, we're all NBA players who have a lot of pride. Nobody wants to go home, so we're not going to make it easy for them." The Pistons knew they let one slip away but will another have a chance to end it in game 5.[/i]

He's baaaaaaaaaack! Kawhi returned to the Spurs and they easily defeated the Nuggets in game 5. Kawhi put up a 33/8/8/5/4 line while holding Butler to a 4-13 shooting night, and the Spurs who had no dreams of upsetting the #1 team in the West suddenly find themselves in the driver's seat with a game 6 at home. "It's not over." Kawhi said sternly, not even cracking a smile. "They will give us their best shot next game." It should be fireworks.

Steph Curry had a series to forget, and the Warriors won easily over the Blazers 4-1 to advance to the second round. "I'm proud to be a part of this team." Veteran Tyson Chandler said after the game. "I've won a championship before, and this team is up there in camaraderie and we just all enjoy being around each other. It's fun. Porzingis was all smiles after the game after celebrating with the team in the locker room. "This is a good first step, but we still have a lot of work to do. We want to be representing the Western Conference in the finals. But we'll enjoy this tonight."[/i]

Evan dropped 25, Lou 33, Mike 31.. this is what we needed." The Rockets just couldn't get anything going outside of Kemba and Vucevic, and the injuries they had in the first game are starting to show a real effect now. The series is suddenly wide open despite the Rockets needing just one more win.

"No, seriously though, us role players needed to step in for all the heavy lifting they always do on offense. What better way to end the series?" The Lakers ended the season with a sour taste in their mouth, but Jokic was proud of how they battled all year. "Nobody predicted us even making the playoffs, so I'm proud we did exceeded expectations. Now we need to pick it up on defense and I think we'll be a tough team to beat next year." Memphis will play the winners of the DEN-SAS series.

"We finally defended like we know we could, and we won a game we had to win if we wanted to continue our season." The Knicks were disappointed, but Giannis vowed the Knicks would take the series. Mitchell said matter-of-factly after the game. "We can't play around." For the second time in two years, the East number one seed is sent home. The Wizards did struggle with unfortunate injuries in the playoffs, and playoff Harden is a hard player to stop, but the Wizards were disappointed that their journey ends here. "We tried," Booker said, stopping tears in his eyes from welling up, "But we just fell a little short this year. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would be 1st seed in the playoffs after missing it last year, but we have a strong group of guys that want to get better. This is only the beginning." Harden knew he had bigger goals than the first round even though the Pistons had to run off an impressive end of the year streak to even make the playoffs. "I think we're built for the playoffs." Harden said. "We have a lot of veterans and hard-nosed players that are hungry. We aren't done yet.

The heroes of game 6 for the Spurs weren't the expected heroes, but they were absolutely needed. Waiters and Bagley added 27 and 26 points respectively for their team while Kawhi did a lot of the do-it-all dirty work in a crucial game. "We had hope the entire series that if we could just give Kawhi enough time to heal, he'd come through for us." said Bagley after the game. "I just did my part. My teammates take a lot of attention from defenders and it made my job easy tonight." Kawhi cracked a small smile, but it was still business as usual for him. "We won, it feels good. Now we have to start prepping for Memphis." The Nuggets who were a juggernaut all season just felt sluggish and off the entire series. "I don't know, man." Jimmy Butler said sighing. All it took from Miami was a better 4th quarter than the Bulls and that was all she wrote for this game. The Heat got solid contributions from their bench, mainly FVV and Hood, while Winslow steadied the team with a triple double and Lillard played his role of a sniper perfectly. The Bulls also had a lot of players chip in on offense, but Mitchell was clearly not the player of last game, only scoring 8 points. "I sucked again." Mitchell said. It got scary for the Rockets, but they ended the series how they started it, dominant. The Rockets got two important players back in Aminu and Jordan, and led at the half by 33 points. Not only that, LeBron and Conley were only held to 10 points in the most important game of the year for them. LeBron had some words to say after the game. "Yeah, I don't know. It sucks to go out like this after climbing back in the series. We dug ourselves a huge hole we had to get out of, and that poo poo gets tiring. We honestly tried our best but the Rockets were on another one tonight. They deserved the win and I wish them luck in the playoffs." Two years in a row the Bulls have sent the Heat packing, this time it took everything out of them to do it. "Man, this series has been wild." Mitchell said after the game. Of course, I'm glad we took it though. We're ready for more basketball." The Heat felt similarly, albeit having a sour taste in their mouth after losing to the 8th seeded Bulls as the 1st seeded Heat last year. Lillard spoke to reporters candidly. "It stings, man. Not gonna lie. They have a great team, great offensive players. They made a few more plays down the stretch and in the 4th quarter. We had it coming into the 4th but we pumped the brakes a bit and they took advantage of it. We have fighters on this team though and I have faith that we'll fix our playoff issues next year.
