So, anyway, about that game which is still a few months away. I think it's going to be a lot of fun! I'm planning on a femme Nomad V built to sneak as much as she can, and shoot when she can't. I might try a corpo run as well, but Nomad strikes my fancy and feels like it'd fit. It's going to be interesting to see how CDPR's stealth systems work, since their previous games didn't include stealth as much of an option for Geralt.

I'm expecting something very similar to DX:HR stealth. Not incredibly deep by any means, but I'm expecting augments, perks and weapons to give you a lot of options regardless of however you end up wanting to play.

Red Dead 2 actually has the best epilogue/ side quest after the climax concept. the main character is dead and the side quest characters will react appropriately to the new player character

Hacking/Netrunning is definitely something I want to see more of. OG Deus Ex let you use hacking to bypass or neutralize lots of hostile areas by turning off cameras, unlocking doors, or making patrol bots friendly. I really want to do a lady V stealth Netrunner corpo run so hopefully hacking has a lot of depth and variety.

“Making turrets mobile by carrying it like a pizza box” is a convincing case for weight training if there ever was one. That, and helping your friends move.

So do we know the exact difference between Technology and Intelligence skills? INT goes to hacking, but TECH is more about minor gadgets, turrets, cameras, electronics - like repairing and such?

Someone’ll mod it in. I really liked all the characters they showcased in that quest, though. Hyperaggressive Militech lady was pretty much the kind of character I’d like to roll.

DX:HR (and DX:MD, even though the latter's story ended just before the second act) had good, serviceable stealth and maps designed so you could be a sneaky, hacky jerk.

Yeah they mentioned that the Netrunner and Flathead were stepping too much on each others toes in the design space so they merged them into just Netrunner being the tech focused part.

I hadn't seen it and have been also been playing video games longer than most of you have been alive. I am not convinced akimbo = dual wield is as widespread as you think, and akimbo = wearing two of something is a sad kind of confusion.

It's literally the name of the power up in Blood that lets you dual wield weapons. That game was released in 1997 and the term has been in pretty regular use since.

I'm older than everyone by at least six decades and in the 90s (at least starting with Blood/Shadow Warrior) through... Halo 2 or so "guns akimbo" was the term used to describe two guns. Since then the term has definitely faded in use in favor of dual-wield, although I couldn't say why.
