slipknots first 2 studio CD's were actually really good. toxicity was actually really good. static-xis better than you would think you've never lived if you've never had passionate sex to deftones tool is loving WACK white zombie isn't that much better than rob zombie, but its better the rest of it is rambling white boy aggression rock, but I'm open to anybody who wants to try to argue for why anything else stands out

Nu metal is basically, sludgy guitars, usually two despite not really having guitar solo work or anything else for a lead to do, and angsty, personally angry, violent lyrics about like being a tough guy or about how you're a sadist with a masochistic slave or something that passed for edgy in 2001. Nu metal drums tend to be pretty meh, but it's not a coincidence that if you search for drum playthroughs on youtube you get a ton of metal.
