Stenhouse has a reputation, but he's a competent enough driver to put together solid runs now and then. Houff isn't just a bad driver by NASCAR standards, he's bad on a "absolutely should not be on the track" level. It's a joke that he's running Cup at all.

lol at the thought of trying to grind safety rating in ARCA

Quin Houff is the first driver to which my reaction upon hearing he'd gotten a Cup ride was a dead serious "Who?".

I didn't watch the race, so I was trying to look up wtf happened. He's already had so many stupid crashes just this year it was hard to search for. He's done marginally better than that one guy who spun and wrecked like 4 times in one Bristol race

I don't care what has to happen for someone other than Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin to win every race. It's not like this is the only time in Nascar history some dipshit has wrecked stupidly and influenced the outcome of a race.

is there currently anything other than $$$ that's required to race in the cup? I don't think i've ever seen timmy hill win anything and I raced against him in go karts.

You need approval to run at Daytona (oval) and Talladega at the Cup level but otherwise I don't think there's any restrictions

They need something like the super license, if daddy wants to pay your way into cup he can pay for you to learn to drive first.

algebra testes posted:I mean, if they gently caress up there is plenty of run off right? Or are they worried someone will lock up and slide through into the track on the other side? I don't think it's a runoff issue but I'm gonna be real interested in seeing how things go in the Cup race. I think there's gonna be a lot of broken rear fenders and bumpers in that area of the racetrack, especially without practice/qualifying. Going from full-speed down almost the entire length of the back stretch into a brake slammer is going to be fun. The Daytona bus stop is pretty wide though, maybe they won't have to brake as much as I anticipate

It would be interesting to work out a way for standout xfinity/truck series drivers to win their way into a chance to qualify for a cup race. The big issue would be who's equipment/crew would they use.

this series sucks and they should do heat races (3 twenty lap, 1 one-hundred lap main) to fix it literally do what every other stock car series on earth does, there is no reason to have a 600 lap race and have the loving moronic stages

I should point out that making the cars harder to drive may not actually improve the racing.

chaos is what makes racing good not bad. i know the teams and drivers hate that reality but they are clowns that dance for my amusement not the other way around. nascar should fund a car for the local short track champion guy at every race, but they should not let him have any practice. also he isnt allowed to park, he has to keep racing until the car physically cannot move anymore. also they should fund a car for the local guy in last place at the short track that still shows up every week. he/she should be given the 48 and all equipment/personnel for the weekend.
|
# ? Jul 20, 2020 18:48 |

also they should just let the local high school team run around on the field during nfl games.

denny hamlin brought out 100% more cautions at the end than houff, and nobody's complaining about him being out there. also earlier this season he dropped a huge chunk of tungsten on the track. the guy is a liability.

Make the cars hard enough to drive that guys like Hoff can’t even dream about cup and mediocre drivers crash out enough we know they’re bad.

You can run the Daytona 500 if you run the ARCA race at Daytona the week before. You can run the ARCA race if your dad has a moderately successful HVAC business in Ormond Beach.

He promptly broke his finger during Practice 1 like 5 minutes into the session and was replaced with somebody competent. It’s a bad look.
