For those who started playing Obsidian's Grounded, is there an actual underlying story or is it more like ARK with bugs? Edit: Ugh didn't know it was another EA game halokiller fucked around with this message at 13:09 on Jul 29, 2020 |

Controls feel fine although the saucer is kind of stiff and there's not as much assist with the telekinetic throwing as I'd like. Otherwise fine although the mission structure is odd, each mission is 15~ minutes and quite linear but then you can go back to free roam and do some side activities which are a bit shite. It's not exactly Mercenaries or Just Cause so the missions feel like the meat of the game and it's priced appropriately for that.

Lol, Grounded immediately warns me about the giant spiders and mentions an Arachnophobia safe mode that allows tweaking their appearance from full-on spiders with legs and mandibles to a white blobby thing. It also has singleplayer, somehow I expected this to be a multiplayer-only thing.

A PopTB remake would be so much better than that terrible Reprisal game that we actually got. It had its flaws, but it was unique and so ahead of its time that we still haven't had another game like it 22 years later. I played it online for years during my early teens, it was basically my introduction to online gaming, for better and for worse. I, no joke, occasionally still dream that I'm playing a Populous match, which inevitably turns into a frustrating mess that I end up losing, much like how it went down in real life.

As someone who freaked out a little inside when I saw the cannibal mutant in the Forest with many many legs that made it look a little like a spider: being able to turn off actual spiders is a godsend. Fortunately for the Forest the horrible mutant was weak to fire and arrows.

STONE it's a delightful game. Been playing it with a friend and clocked in about 40 hours and we can't get enough of it. We recently hit a bit of a wall though in that were so close to promotion, and player rank seems so far away. I play hazard 2s and 3s and it feels like even with secondary objectives our XP payout feels low. So much so that I hope for any double XP mission to crop up ErrEff posted:Lol, Grounded immediately warns me about the giant spiders and mentions an Arachnophobia safe mode that allows tweaking their appearance from full-on spiders with legs and mandibles to a white blobby thing. Fascinating. I like this type of accessibility. After all, giant spiders are loving terrifying. I found out in Skyrim, because Bethesda loves having enemies that do not load properly and just pop up on the screen immediately instead of descending. Speaking of Skyrim, is the best mod for Arachnophobes still the spider model replaced with a giant grizzly bear with no animations? There is always the Arachnophobia mode from Satisfactory, which replaces/censors the spiders with flickering holographic images of cats and somehow manages to be MORE terrifying, IMO.

Fargin Icehole posted:ROCK.AND. STONE You definitely need to bump up to 4s, once you're 17-19 and can upgrade things it's super doable. You don't need overclocks just the basic tree. Depending on modifiers haz4 will often be double the xp of 2s. Especially since you're working in an organized group, at 40 hours you should have promoted already... I think you are holding yourselves back! Plus my favorite runs are the ones we barely win. ALSO higher difficulty = more gold, what more reason so you need. There is definitely a drought from the late teens to your first 25 though. Once you hit that promotion things start cracking along again. threelemmings fucked around with this message at 16:08 on Jul 29, 2020 |

I'm confused by this. Is he mocking the guy who made that review? That snippet is taken out of context and is misleading. For context, what's going on in that scene is that you are the alien disguised as the mayor tricking people with blind patriotism, which is what the game is actually mocking. The person who made the video addresses this.

For Karl Rockenstone! My friends and I are doing deep dives now and those are great, feels very payday-esque with a multi day mission. Your health/ammo follows you to the next stage so finding Nitra is super important because supply drops is the only way to get ammo across all 3 missions. We tried a hazard 4 mission for the first time last night for the hell of it and got loving stomped into the ground. We ran into one of the big exploders and the ground pound was an instakill, so kiting that thing while grunts and spitters were coming out of every crevasse and it wasn't even technically a wave... poo poo's hard. Maybe I'm just being cynical, but it seems like the fact that Fall Guys isn't F2P will immediately kill it. The only way that game is going to work is if you can consistently get 60 players in matchmaking, right?

OK, I need some help here, because this is driving me nuts: I just started playing Fallout 4 again, after only trying it out for ~15 hours back in 2017. Seeing as the Sim Settlement mod can handle auto-building of settlements, I can focus on shooting mole rats. But I was pretty certain that there was degradation of weapons, and you could use similar models of weapons to repair existing ones. That's not the case. And now I'm going crazy because I can't for the life of me remember what game had that mechanic. It's almost certainly an open world game - could be an RPG or could be a loot shooter. It could also be no guns and only swords and whatnot. I think there was a sound like pulling a strip of gaffa tape when repairing the weapon. I also believe you didn't have to go to a base/workbench to do these repairs, but could do it right on the inventory screen. Does anyone remember the game?
