Wing Commander be damned, I'd rather fund the spiritual successor to LEGO Rock Raiders. That thing may have been incomplete, and I was seven when I last played it, but it was the only strategy-mining game that was actually fun. Does Star Citizen have any aliens to shoot, or is it cheaper to stick to human foes because you can buy them cheap off an asset shop?

CIG finally released their female character models, they hoped to great acclaim -- but not only were they blatantly sexualized and unrealistic, they also didn't work. The thread reacted very badly -- "how could they gently caress up this bad on something so basic?" and that's when the thread began to change from theorycrafting and expectation into relentless mockery.

Combat Theory posted:reminder that this is how the game played like in december loving 2015 It blows my mind when I see new gameplay videos, because back then it was a game that was definitely not fun but had the bones to become fun, to something not only not fun but with the bones shattered into dust. It's that that moved my opinion from "it's not a scam, just incompetence and scope creep" in the early years to "lol it's obviously a scam" now, because they pretty clearly intentionally scuttled the viable game they had because they knew the whale bux valve would get turned off if they released something.
