It's clownish to look at now. It's basically all loving Kuleshov effect where they show him walking down the STREET in a pimp coat and so you infer that he's obviously wearing it in the office and yet look at how these people are talking him seriously

God forbid someone listens to what was apparently one of the only people here who actually watched the loving thing. If you're willing to spend thousands of posts talking about the election, it seems bizarre not to watch the convention speeches. This is literally the Democratic Party laying out its platform, it was pretty clear what they stood for. They made it very clear they care about the post office, the health impacts of the pandemic, wanton murders of Black people, and whether kids have food. They mentioned these things so often it was almost annoying, but God help me if I don't support kids getting food.

I actually think a lot of you were too intimidated by the idea that you might agree with these people to actually watch the stream. In 2016, I remember a lot of the Dnd people got together to watch the conventions, so I really don't know what happened. I assumed that this thread would be incredibly busy today.

It's weird when you're hyper sensitive to Kasich Reaching out to Republicans, but you literally didn't recognize when Michelle Obama was directly reaching out to you. And weirdly, I think the former governor of Ohio was more effective in his entreaty than the former First Lady was to you. Which kind of goes to show why they took a certain approach? I figured I might be one of the only people who took the day off to watch the council sessions, but I am legitimately surprised that I appear to be one of the only people who actually watched the core programming.

Also I'm pretty sure I was, because otherwise I would've seen more people complaining about Pete being in the Black council web conference earlier today. And Rice in the ethnic council (their council titles).

I don't think there's any amount of context that would make putting Amy "Derek Chauvin did nothing wrong" (Disclaimer: This is not an actual quotation and is not intended to be represented as such) Klobuchar on stage the same night they had George Floyd's family speak about police brutality not an utterly disgusting act on the DNC's part. Though, honestly, between this and them picking Harris, I don't think Klob letting Chauvin and all those other cops off the hook for murder when she was county attorney actually hurt her chances of being picked for VP. That literally did not matter to them; it was either always going to be Harris, or Klobuchar actually still had a shot and blew it by backing down when her record was getting attention. The Democrats just do not see the problem there, which is why the current VP choice is someone who's going to have that same problem except many times worse because she was DA for San Francisco and AG for California for more time total than Klob was a county attorney. Also what the gently caress is this. https://twitter.com/b8tch_updates/status/1295562551250448385

I'm not sure "Vote-Or-Die" is something you should try to be putting all your eggs in given how well it worked out the last time. And the time before that. It seems like kind of a historically losing strategy.
