She's an idiot. There's nothing under the surface there. OH NOT THE BUISINESSES OH NOOOOOO. So, anyone here set up with like six to eighteen months worth of food, water, medicine and fuel so you don't have to leave your house until the vaccine is made? That few, huh? Well, then you guys are surely set up to hunt, fish, farm and otherwise "live off the land" right? Not so much, huh? Well, then I guess my rear end gets to continue to work at the grocery store because that's a business that clearly needs to stay open. Oh, and not for nothing, but who wants to be a homeless person wandering the roads trying to beg for money from people looking at them like they're disease incarnate? Yeah, didn't think so. The thing is that those "buisinesses" are run by other human beings. And a lot of them are small. So yeah, this is catching them right in the neck to the point thta quite a few folks will be losing their homes because of it. Walmart's going to be fine. McDonald's will coast right through this. That nice Mom 'n' Pop restaurant? They're the ones that'll get hosed.

Yeah, if a celebrity starring in the biggest, most anticipated streaming service show currently out there wanted to drum up support for the people by encouraging our leaders to support us, or provide some kind of stimulus or relief for the pandemic, that would be fine. Telling us to just LET ‘ER RIP AND LET GOD SORT EM OUT is fuckin’ nuts. Edit: oh poo poo I mean “I hope Darth Maul is in s2”. Also Esposito is great in S2 of the Boys so far, can’t wait to see him in this.

I kind of doubt that Darth Maul will show up for Season 2 of The Mandalorian, mostly because Obi-Wan killed his rear end in a two-second lightsaber duel in Star Wars: Rebels which likely took place a good 7-10 years before RotJ. I haven't checked out The Boys, yet. I kind of want to but I have really good memories of the Garth Ennis comic and I don't want to risk spoiling them. Has Love Sausage shown up yet?

He has not. The show is departing pretty far from the comic in the best of ways.

Every goon told me the The Boys comic was poo poo. The show, however, is amazing. Karl Urban and Anthony Starr are so good in their roles.

Mywhatacleanturtle posted:Mostly unrelated to the thread, but: if you largely roll your eyes at edgy bullshit, is The Boys still worth a watch? If you read the comic, don't worry because they got rid of the worst of Millar's Millaring. It's basically just using the names and a similar plot structure. EdiT: Wait, the Boys was Ennis, not Millar. But the point still stands.

Yeah, I checked the wiki page for the comics to get a summary. Hooo boy are we getting a better show. There are a lot of changes and I agree with every one of them. it;s diverging enough that someone who read the comics will be surprised, and I sure as he'll have no idea what's going to happen next - other than some extremely telegraphed stuff in the first episode. Then you get down to the product that's actually on your TV and... goddamn this show is well directed. It's a great cast, no question, but even people this talented don't play everything exactly right in every scene without a great deal of effort from the director. Watch The Boys, it's damned good.

Obi-Wan purposely baiting Maul into using the same move he murdered Qui Gon just so he could juke him like a true stone cold killer is one of the coolest moments in Star Wars, and gives Obi Wan a dimension I don’t think he had before. He outsmarted one of the most powerful Sith Lords of all time and punked him into oblivion, it owns.
