I think Love Sausage was just an easter egg and won't be a recurring character, same as Terror...I don't think Kimiko would be able to one-punch KO Vas, if he was his comic book self since COMIC SPOILER he's not completely dead after being hit twice with an RPG, once straight up in the chest. Also his power is not related to his massive schlong in the comics - he's just a really loveable, communist, endowed generic strong/durable supe.

Although I was glad he just seems to have been knocked out instead of straight up murdered.

Kimiko did remove two of his fingers in the comic though.

If you completely reworked it I think it could be a decent storyline. Remove the (ugh, I feel gross even saying it) implication that some Super Duper members have learning disabilities. Tone Malchemical's level of evil way down. And I think the basic story of a high-powered, aggressive, out-of-control supe being put in charge of a team of well-meaning but underpowered teenagers as a punishment would work pretty well.

Awwww.... wait were the Soviet supers the only good supers in the Boys universe? I did not see that coming from Ennis. Did Vought, and American company, give V to the Soviet Union to keep an arms race going and profit from both sides? Nice. I think I read a few issues like 2 decades ago but honestly I remember NOTHING from it. I normally remember reading everything from my youth and I don't really remember the Boys. I do remember Crossed.. and wish I didn't.

To that goon who liked Crossed: I could see the potential and I am a sucker for post apoc but that comic took it way too far to the pervy. I think every so often I'd torrent (centuries ago and I dont even know of those sites anymore so please don't ban - downloading is bad) some out of curiosity and make it an issue and nope out. There were some interesting stories here and there but very typical Zed/Post Apoc fare and just buried under mountains of gross extreme and edgy stuff that turned off even pre teen and teen me. And I listened to Slipknot when I was 10 or so and my tastes were typical and awful.

Good Ennis will always be Hitman. That comic was really solid and contained one of the better Superman stories around. An editor kept Ennis in check and is still a good read. I want to say he also did a good Dan Dare but its been like 20 years and no more sites to check it out from.

We need the equivalent of the shrimp = small pastry avatar, but for ambulances and their mysteries now.
Super Duper were also good in the traditional sense, to the point that they were literally helping people with a cat stuck on a tree. Although that's very much another "Ennis bad" chapter for several different reasons.

Annie and Vas are probably the only 2 "born" tier A supes with a good moral compass in the comics, I would say. Everyone else is either corrupted by the power they can exert, corrupted by V or both.

That was the Super Dupers.

G-Whiz was one of the feeder teams for the G-Men (X-men-analogues) who, like the X-men, had a constantly rotating roster of multiple teams. The G-Whiz were literally just frat boys with superpowers who hadn't "graduated" to crime-fighting, which for another creator would have made them the worst of the worst but to Ennis made them relatively good guys.

Also they were all molested by the Boys version of Professor X

MM's storyline is easily the grossest poo poo in the comics by far, in so many ways.

edit: v-- yeah, they've done a surprisingly good job of threading the needle with him so far. All of the characters across the board have been given more depth, honestly.

It is written by an adult man who never grew up from his edgy teenager phase, and was mostly read by edgy teenagers who liked it at the time for shock value but have since realized it was pretty awful.

Preacher is better, Crossed is worse, but overall just avoid his works.

A few of my buddies who watch the show have no idea what Black Guy From the Boys' name is. "Emm Emm" is a pretty awkward name and it seems like they avoid using it as much as possible.

Plusthey already used the breastmilk thing on Homelander, so they're sorta stuck with him being 'MM' forever.

I would not be surprised if it was a Watchmen/Starship Troopers-type deal where they bought the rights for the adaptation because legal said it was too close to something that already existed, and they just used the introductory premise and inciting incident.

This neatly sidesteps the fact that his "mother" in this case is a giant blob of flesh locked in a basement with giant nipple tentacles.. Or the subplot where his 12-year-old daughter, who looks like an adult because of the trace V in her system passed on from MM, gets talked into doing mother-daughter porn with MM's crack-addicted wife. It's genuinely vile and Ennis is a gross racist sack of poo poo.

Starship Troopers was originally a movie called "Bug Hunt At Outpost 9" and was well into production before the studio bought the rights to adapt the book. Verhoeven only read like two chapters of the novel and hated it.

I remember hearing that Watchmen was originally a different project that got folded into it but can't find a source on that.
