Yeah honestly getting my rear end beat down by life for 3 years was probably the best thing that ever happened to me in retrospect.

I've just been notified that my college is going to maintain "extreme low density in-person posture" for next semester. gently caress. This spring may be the last time that I actually teach students in person. I'm tired of the twisted pseudo-academic-but-really-corporate bullshit and plan to stop teaching after next semester. That's kinda sad, because I've developed courses over the last 20 years that have really changed some students' lives. :2020: cakesmith handyman posted:My kids are driving me insane. Sill love 'em. Bajaha posted:You're quite correct in that assessment, it looks like it's a modified Quadra cycle that utah trikes manufactures. Makes sense that they'd adapt an existing design for their needs. Hopefully that means it's well designed and despite being the first iteration of the model there's no bugs/glaring flaws Actually, I was thinking more the ford quadricycle from around 1900. The big oversized wheels I think are what really does it.

I just want to share some positive news, I've been unemployed for about two months now (which is a fantastic way to make a ton of progress on your projects lol) , and wasn't getting any traction. No email responses no phone calls, just a few empty chats with recruiters. Then I had an interview on Wednesday that I think went very well and it's someplace I'd love to work. And then a phone interview for another place today, and after that a call out of the blue for a third place, for an interview next week! No offers yet, but all very encouraging.

I had a tough time in the first 2 years of middle school (3 year school), then moved and had to fight my way through the first year of high school (4 year school). Other than that, I was good, but I definitely felt the pain.

I've got to say though my son is going to high school next year (holy gently caress by the way when did that happen) and the other night they did an online/virtual open evening. It was really well done and he is really looking forward to it, couldn't stop talking about the DT lab with the printers, laser cutters, lathes etc, I think he could really enjoy this. Hope I can keep up and he continues to cope so well with his condition.

I was 8 years old when it started. I'm talking literal daily beatings. It's long and complicated but it's probably why I hated school so much, I was never safe there.

Somehow I did not know about the Ford Quadricycle, looked it up and yeah, I get the vibe. It's definitely a spiritual successor to the idea. But yeah, October's been a pretty rocking month for me so far. Bought 'The Rig' as mentioned earlier, paid off the auto loan I had in full, and got my P.Eng designation so I now I can officially use the title 'Engineer'. Feels good man. Rhyno - from what you've shared over the years it sounds like you overcame quite a bit of poo poo and are living a good life now. Glad to see the way it's turned out but definitely sounds like the journey was poo poo. I probably didn't have it as bad as some but add me to the list of the beaten and bullied in school.

I'm thinking next week I should try to get into the doctors. Ever since the fires and smoke exposure, I've been lethargic and had a sore throat. No other symptoms, but I'm really missing the energy. I've got a ton to do while the weathers nice, but I can't get off the couch for longer than an hour. No fever, no lost of taste, no cough. Just no energy. Job stress and late nights sure aren't helping, but man I miss earlier this year when I actually had some gumption.

I don’t think even with the level of 3D chess Republicans think they’re masters of that a hoax makes sense. His whole brand is authoritarian hard man, strong and healthy as an ox, healthiest president ever, he can’t then turn around a catch a Democrat hoax mild flu. Would pay money to see the press ask about his comorbidities, and ask “are the presidents doctors concerned that his history of bone spurs will affect his treatment?”

I'm such a princess when it comes to my ability to sleep. After the monster hail storm, I'm getting a new roof on my house which is going to be quite a big job. Obviously free due to house insurance, yay! I'm pouting that soon I will be awoken by a bunch of roofers and scaffolders loving around on my property at 0600 (I literally sleep in til 0800 normally for an 0830 start). Huge increase in house value and bitching about waking up early, what a loving 1st world problem.
