My wife comes from a quiverfull, homeschool, southren baptist family. I work and have worked in factories/farms or other blue collar jobs my entire life. You can guess what my friends lists and Facebook feeds look like. I see a lot of them disgusted with Trump and what its become, particularly after Lafayette square and the racist bullhorn he used at the debate. But they have been so indoctrinated against “demonrats” that they just can’t bring themselves to do it. But its progress, a year ago they would never have given a second thought to any of dear leaders actions.

I’m now two weeks booze free (and cigarettes, which are a side effect of the booze). At 36, this is the first time in my adult life I’ve genuinely wanted to go alcohol free. It’s been painless so far, I’m sure that won’t always be the case. I don’t know how long I’ll keep going but I’d like to get to a point where I’m feeling happy and safe to have one or two drinks and leave it at that. Today I did a 26km walk, I’ve been jogging every other day and my mental health is streets ahead of where it has been in years. 2020 is a poo poo year but I feel like I am dragging myself forward slowly.

Thanks, I think it's longer than anything I've done with the possible exception of part of the Abel Tasman Track when I was 19 and much fitter. If anyone ever travels to New Zealand, go visit Abel Tasman National Park. Feeling a bit sore and I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow but after months of lockdown it feels great.

So I am FB friends with a guy at work who tested positive 2 weeks ago. I found out tonight he's spent the last week at a casino a bit south of here. So he totally broke quarantine and is set to return to work tomorrow night. I'm pretty pissed off by his total lack of concern for other people. Part of me wants to rat him out but I don't know if there will be any actual ramifications.

Standing behind a guy with no mask at the store yesterday who started COUGHING ALL OVER the woman working, the counter, credit card machine, lotto tickets and about a million other things hundreds of people touch all day. I felt so bad for the lady, he did it right in her face, a gross wet nasty cough without covering it whatsoever. I was so pissed I wanted to wreck his poo poo right there and I'm a zero violence person. I tried to video his face to post all over but I was too slow on the draw. Then another shithead behind me also maskless had the audacity to say "all the video taping" like I was the rear end in a top hat and not the disgusting fuckstick jeopardizing everyone else's health. I loving hate these selfish wastes of life I hear the orange dumbass is suffering so there is some justice in this world. First time he's ever faced consequences for any of his actions ever in his gross life

Top work, DoC. That’s fantastic. I did the Pinnacles in February and it has amazing facilities. The toilets at the hut are great. It’s a hell of a lot of stairs and ladders but well worth it.

If you want your vote for president to really, really count, we need to get rid of the electoral college. Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 by a decent chunk (over -2%), but took the electoral vote by over a 5% margin. So did Bush Jr. for his first term, though it was a small margin on the popular (-0.51% I believe) and an equally small victory on the electoral (+0.503%) You still need to go out and vote, even though ultimately it's the electoral college that decides who wins or loses. The 7-11 I used to frequent... the employees stopped wearing masks whenever they're behind their plexiglass shields. The ones held together with packing tape... that have come apart at the seams. They'll tell you to leave if you don't have a mask on, but they don't wear any face covering. I hate to be that rear end in a top hat bitching about face coverings, but I'm in the very high risk group for multiple reasons (overweight [not obese tho], diabetes, high blood pressure...) A corporate complaint did absolutely nothing, aside from a generic "we take these matters very seriously<tm>" email. Another 7-11 down the road takes it a lot more seriously, though their prices are higher.  There's nothing 24/7 here anymore except for Denny's, IHOP, and 7-11/Circle K/Quiktrip.

Had the Mach-e reservation to replace my Accord Hybrid and now need something to replace my F-150 so... I may not end up getting the Mach-e, depends how well I like the Polestar 2 interior if I can find one to sit in. And the Model Y is still on the table I just don't really like Elon.
