Just watched Scanners for the first time. Kind of hated it! Nearly every line delivered by the protaganist is eye rollingly bad. Couldn't wait for it to end. Neat effects during the ending though.

When we watched Maniac on the Scream Stream, there was some debate as to whether the fidelity of the effect in Scanners beats the fact that in Maniac there is another actor within splatter range to get covered in brain blood

I think he threw it in a car driven by another member of the crew to further distance himself from the gun. Could be misremembering. I believe he tells the story in the Savini doc on Shudder?

I never really watched any franchise. I'm through part 4 of the Nightmare on Elm Street and honestly they keep getting better and better. Well maybe not 4 is better than 3 but I still liked 4. Patricia Arquette was great in 3 and I'm really disappointed she got recast.

CHEESE IT, THE FEDS!
