You guys know that pit spike formation with the bridge on top in the dwelling? I put a rope and went down, and as I went down the rope a skeleton got up, the character immediately bounced on it and landed on the spikes

I gotta say, one area where I find Spelunky 2 really disappointing is the "level feels." In the mines in HD, you had snake pit, spiders, and dark levels. Snake pits were rad as gently caress, 'cause that's an easy practically free mattock, which is definitely nice to have, but not game-breaking or anything. Spider levels guaranteed multiple sources of paste for sticky bombs, which was also a nice mix of being helpful and difficult. Dark levels still sucked, but at least it was a good source of easy money if you light the torches.

None of the level feels in 2 really seem to have the same reward vs risk thing goin' on [aside from dark levels.] Like as far as I can tell, a voice echoes level just makes it longer. No perks. Just a bigger area to get through in the same amount of time. The metal clanking level though, I think just one time I've seen a crate cranked out onto the conveyor belt instead of junk, but I couldn't say for sure that's how it got there instead of some other weird spelunky shenanigans.

It's weird there's still an undead level feeling in the jungle but I've only seen it twice even though I go that route pretty much every single time

Pro tip: you can float down onto spikes with a cape (still need the rope to get back up though)

Voice echoes doubles the height according to the wiki, though I could swear it widened the level as well. It's super boring, especially when it happens in Dwelling, where nothing interesting lives.

It happens outside of the Jungle too, it's just wicked rare in general.

Lmao I was just in Madame Tusk's casino (on the best run I've ever had, I left 1-1 with 17 bombs, 7 ropes, and 15k gold) casually bouncing dice off the forcefield like I've done a million times before, and one of the dice decided to just hit the ground and then slowly keep rolling on the ground to the left, all the way to the front door. Didn't have time to react and obviously was summarily executed for theft. Never seen one do that before, what the hell?

I used to throw dice by bouncing them off the force field, but I don’t do that anymore after two deaths to them continuing to roll right on out the room sometimes

Apparently the Ghist enemy/shopkeeper from the curse shop can spawn there, has anyone ever seen that? I never actually spotted him but I was running around a Restless Dead Jungle spamming the camera and I must have killed him somehow because my notebook updated. Does he spawn as hostile or friendly or what?

ive been playing with magnuts tying to change the wold as we know it

Try #430 gave me my first start to finish victory, wooohhooooo.

I'd bet 100 of them were from dying in 5-1 trying to ride the deathball all the way down.

So, 6-4 is a touch easier if you bring in a shotgun. I've come within 3 hits of a whip victory but no success yet. I just completely forget how to cook a bomb in that room. It's embarrassing.

You can apparently get that journal entry by camera flashing a dead caveman???

Killing a hired hand while cursed will also spawn a ghist

There's a lot of unsolved weird in there.

I feel like hired hands accrue karma, you kill too many they start "accidentally" taking you out. Lesson is, kill all of them.

The latest patch has already rebalanced the first section of the game right? I'm terrible at spelunky (but keep playing) and found I was getting through the dwelling way way more often all of a sudden , and that 1-4 seemed slightly different.

I threw a ghost jar and it landed on my pug and he became like a haunted ghost pug with black butterflies flying around him. He still gave me the +1 health lick at the end of the area. What did hitting him with the jar do?? Did I accidentally make my dog an immortal god ghost dog or something?

whatever gets hit with the jar will be cursed, including you but it's tricky how you achieve this. this curse lets you get into the ghost shop. I think you can remove the curse by doing a kali sacrifice.

Sacrifing a pet's worth of points lifts the curse, yes.

I love how all the "gaming" websites just copied the info "You cant cure curse" from each other all the time at first.

If you hit them with the whip they grunt and get angry, if you keep it up and they'll be aggressive.

Man, bear traps being instant death is pretty rude given that the floor tiles can make them impossible to see :\

edit: And let's be real every time someone says something like this the response is "well none of the floor tiles cover up the entire ground above by design so actually a little bit of the bear trap is always sticking out", but in Spelunky 'invisible' and 'functionally invisible' have the same end result: you won't see it and will walk into it and it's not really your fault. It's Spelunky so that isn't such a big deal, but usually the punishment isn't instant death.

I actually very nearly killed myself at the Tiamat fight lol. I jumped left towards a UFO to throw a rope at it then strafed back right into where it was about to crash and the explosion sent me flying to the exit. Left me with 1hp. Weird.
