The only way I can see this get any traction outside FOX News and the usual scum of the earth, is if Trump insists on talking about it tomorrow at the debate, and then nothing else. Even then I think it’d backfire hard. The narrative of Trump being desperately behind in the polls is well and truly established now, and him screaming about Hunter (note: not Joe, Hunter) would likely be seen by the greater public as the flailing desperation of a mad man. Not to mention the impending drop of the 60 minutes thing (whatever that was), the NYT story about his CHAYNA account, and the implications that the corona death toll is actually double that what is usually reported...yeh I dunno. Now it is being claimed otherwise by Rudy, which if true would mean the shopkeeper was culpable in distributing child pornography(sucks to be a patsy for Rudy huh) and Rudy would also be on the hook for possession of it since he would have made a copy of it and held onto it after turning over the laptop to the FBI. I don't believe for a second that the laptop story is legitimate, sure they might have a physical laptop that they filled with stuff they hacked from Hunter's actual emails and texts along with phony stuff, but the serial number they posted on it was supposedly registered to Hunter Biden over a week after he abandoned it at the computer shop according to Rudy's timeline.

No offense to your in-laws, but if they're already talking about it, chances they are likely true believers and/or getting their "news" from the usual brigade of right-wing crackpots, and no timeline we could provide would be a suitable enough explanation for them. The claims are--like the brains of Trump and Giuliani--so full of holes that they could be marketed and sold as Swiss cheese; so if people are bringing it up "in passing", it's because they're likely full-bore Trump supporters who want to discourage others from voting for Biden.

How do they rationalize that while also maintaining their illusions of intellectual superiority? E: also, there certainly is domestically produced Qanon-related conspiracy content in Europe. We have plenty of grifters and true believers over here as well. This conspiracy is global now.
