I've been making carrot "lox". I looked at a few recipes online and just experimented from there. My recommendation - add smoked salt and use it for homemade Philadelphia rolls. And bagels of course.

I've been meaning to try this out for awhile. I've seen some carrot lox that looks so good and I miss lox a ton.

When the light turns green, you go. When the light turns red, you stop. But what do you do when the light turns blue with orange and lavender spots?

I wish lox wasn't so expensive.

If you have a Kroger/King Soopers, they sell a packaged lox trim that is 1/2 to a 1/4 the price of the nice looking lox. It tastes as good, I actually like it more than the regular slices.

I'll have to take a look at HEB for that. Otherwise I'll probably buy a pound or two of good quality salmon and make some.

Nice!

The last few things I’ve made for breakfast have been breakfast burritos. But the only wraps I have around are vegetable, so they’re all green and the final product is all weird looking and not fit for pictures.

I made salsa de arbol this morning to polish off some tomatoes, and had it over eggs and roasted potato.

Oh, and Jones was there too.

Decided to make something better than "eggs on toast"

So I made eggs on toast with mushrooms and veggie sausages!

Four-dal pancakes with Goan potatoes. It's amazing the flavour only a few fenugreek seeds give. Madhur Jaffrey wins again.

I’m going to consider these apple turnovers breakfast because one looks like a Poptart.

My wife was making these and the pastry dough wasn’t cooperating. So I panicked and did the one thing i could think of... make a big ravioli. The others came out better after the dough moistened up a bit.

Put a new egg-safe seasoning on a cast iron bakestone (and tested my fire alarm whilst at it!) and tried out my new enamel kettle, both good! Yolks were a little overdone, but still runny in the middle.

I know, I know. I don’t put ketchup on literally anything except breakfast sandwiches that don’t also have sausage :downs:. Sometimes I just want to see if I’m missing something.

Closest I came to visiting London was a four hour layover at Heathrow last year. I figured I’d make the best of it and head to one of the nicer looking restaurants in there for a nice English breakfast. Got to say I was very happy. It was exactly what I was picturing and they even threw in some black pudding on the side. Maybe one day I’ll be able to visit the UK beyond just the airport.

Got a chance to swing by the Asian market yesterday and I grabbed a load of great stuff including some kimchi.

Woke up this morning and made a Kimchi omelette with a sweet sriracha glaze. Best omelette I’ve made in a while!
