Here in Taiwan we haven’t had a single domestic case of COVID for 215 days exactly. If you go to a COVID tracker you’ll see Taiwan marked as having some cases but those are all people coming from abroad confirmed to have it while they’re in quarantine. 23.5mm population. 7 deaths. Just loving imagine, if humanity had discipline and could hold tight for a month or so, literally none of this would have happened and it would have been effectively defeated.

Even back when the World Health Organization said this was serious, our official response was "this will go away in the summer." our governments last advice on COVID was months ago, and it was "drink bleach."

Despite not having had it myself, and being very careful and sanitising everything constantly I'm just kind of assuming I'm going to get it sometime no matter what. It's strange, because apart from lots of people wearing masks and queuing outside shops you wouldn't really know anything was different to normal in my town. Traffic is a bit lighter due to people working from home, but it's not like a plague-town with rats and corpses littering the streets, and constant sirens. It doesn't seem very pandemic-ey at all but the numbers are terrible.
