Someone help me out here. I like black / melodic death metal, especially when there's symphonic / orchestral elements that sound legit/organic and not like corny synthesizer. An example would be Rotting Christ's Theogonia in 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCtgeqK--k0&t=903s Recently I stumbled on Shade Empire and I can't get enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEGTA3w4LA4&t=74s Are there any other bands that are in this kind of darker style and but weave all these string-section riffs, trumpet solos, world music into the forefront? I looked it up and the guy who did the instrumentals for Shade Empire is Mikko P. Mustonen, but all his other works seem to be in the upbeat Power Metal realm. Like I wanna find orchestral jams that are more like the two clips I put, and less like pirate-rock Power Metal or wanky prog like Opeth.
