My first time through Makna Forest I drove myself crazy trying to find a way over to that side of the ravine, because you can just barely see it on your map from this side and there was a quest-giver over there and I wanted it. I did eventually just assume that Plot would happen and I'd be able to get there eventually, but not before I spent an embarrassing amount of time running and swimming all over that area trying to make my way up there. I love that Melia, the mage, just loving drop-kicks giant Orlugas and lizardmen and they actually fall over from it.

High Entia are heavy because they have ultra-dense ether deposits in their bones, the stronger the magic the heavier the space elf. Edit: High Entia bones would be hella sparkly if breaking them didn't cause a loving Ether explosion. Edit: I just remembered why I hate the Frontier Village so much, it's not the navigation or the four billion NPCs with insane schedules, it's the weird twinkly sound effect in the background, it's constant and gives me a headache. "What if tinnitus was ~fancy~?  "

I mean, that's an area deliberately designed* to be as loving annoying as possible both in and out of universe. It's basically the sewer level. I'd be pissed at the Origo family but objectively it is an almost perfect place for a secure vault. *In universe it presumably formed naturally but tomayto tomahto Does this game have a sewer level? I can't really think of one. Technically Satorl Marsh might count, but I don't think it really fits the spirit of a jrpg sewer level.
