I mean, it's obvious that the dev team is not great, but how bad is CryEngine (or whatever version of it they're using currently) actually? How does it compare to, say, Unity or UE in terms of ease of use and such? It's a giant pain to use and sucks for things larger than a crysis map. I haven't met anyone who said they liked using it. Had they just stuck to single player space missions and normal sized ground levels it could have been fine. Flannelette fucked around with this message at 00:42 on Nov 18, 2020 |

I will get my 5950x and 3090 tomorrow with 4 TB of m.2 and the new 64 GB G.Skill 3600 RAM kit. I felt stupid for spending 5 grand on a new loving Gaming PC. But then I remembered that it’s like 1/5 of the Scam Citizen Legatus pack of Jpegs and ships to fly in a broken pre alpha sandbox tech demo without content in year 9 where my useless loving expensive rig won’t prevent CTD experiences or even run this lovely PTU smoothly. I will install Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, a real game, and I might even get 60 fps. Thanks Chris Robbers, I feel better now. Keep failing, CIG. See you next quarter.

Of course, it's not at all uncommon for visual design to change massively throughout a game's development, like with Team Fortress 2. But, and Epic Mickey comes to mind, the early stuff can become a problem if that's what the fans latch onto and they don't like it when the later product looks less interesting. There literally does not exist a more powerful gaming GPU than the 3090, so I'm really curious what those 7 additional horizontal points on the graph represent. The only exception to this would be dual 3090s connected with NVLink, but that requires specific built-in support from the game itself, which I am 100% sure Star Citizen does not have. Not to mention that this would only represent one additional data point, not 7. Also I love how several of those nonexistent configurations are shaded to indicate that a significantly large portion of the player base is running them.

Clearly only the best for the best game ever. Also a custom case, cause even most mid/full atx cases can't fit two 3090 above each other

Citizens PLEASE write to your representatives in Congress to have RSI receive some of the NASA budget this year. That money is earmarked for space exploration and not a specific organization. Let Washington know that we the average American don't much care about sending a few astronauts to Mars when we could all explore distant galaxies right from the comfort of our own homes!

Eurogamer: Chris Roberts "a bit too ambitious" Source - GameSpot and IGN posted:In the wake of the collapse of Digital Anvil, co-founder and soon-to-be-former CEO Chris Roberts has spoken about his decision to leave the company he founded just four years ago. As we suspected, the company's troubles were down to "wanting to develop not only hugely ambitious games, but too many hugely ambitious games", leaving the company's finances stretched after four years without a single game being released - the sole title to emerge with the Digital Anvil name on it was actually mostly developed by a small British company.

How an anonymous donor saved me from ragequitting after 3 days of bug infested torture posted:Hello quote:The best way to earn credits in the game is just play the game. Don’t count the number of credits you’ve earned but count instead the number of risks you’ve taken, the number of hauls you’ve done and lost, the number of times you’ve been shot down by a bounty, or times you’ve failed a mission. Eventually, the numbers will go down, so you’ll have to risk more, fight harder fights, and take on more harder challenges. quote:"Stability" is a relative term during alpha; the game is in active development and things aren't always playing nice and smooth. The PTU is a staging platform for release candidates of a patch before it's actually stable enough to deploy to live - but when a patch goes to live that doesn't mean everything's fixed, only that it's not SO broken that the entire community will rise up in anger with pitchforks. quote:My suggestion... "play" the game, enjoy the amazing immersion.. there's not much in progression, no levels, etc; and getting more credits gives you a goal so keep at it; but flying, mining, trading, fighting, even dying are all the things to do. I don't have much aUEC, but I dropped 50k on a citizen last night, had the same story as you, lost it all to a 30k.
