I can't remember who here recommended it (Psydude maybe? Where'd he go?) but both times I've had it installed, I had the installer give me the ONT connection so I can plug it into my own router instead of renting theirs. Honestly, Verizon sucks poo poo for a lot of reasons but FIOS ain't one of them.

That is super interesting. It predates chrome by 3 years, and only 400 requests out of 2.5 million came from phones. And permabanned users browsing witha text-based OpenBSD mess.

I'm not here to poo poo on didn't know about the flu vaccine guy anymore. I'm just going to try and offer as close to a real world link to the conversation. I have Multiple sclerosis. basically my immune system has decided that my brain and nerves are the tastiest thing in the world and just want to do nothing but eat them. As a treatment for this my immune system is purposefully compromised. Over the last decade that has escalated and after what was effectively two fairly heavy rounds of chemo. It worked. I'm not actively getting sicker anymore. I'm out of the wheelchair. I get to work on things in my shop and help my wife paint the house. The side effect is that I effectively have the immune system of somebody with AIDS. A while back I picked up the flu at a wedding and spent a month in bed with a few days in the hospital. I can't get the vaccines. But today my daughter got her braces off and didn't look like a child anymore. I'd like to see what happens next.

And yeah ending book six-ish is probably for the best without doing a bunch of aging stuff. I blew through the books this summer and they were very good.

Cox implemented data caps in Vegas as well (after years of not having them). Four adults in a single apartment is more than enough to put us over that limit, so we have to pay for the 500GB extension. Real nice of them. It's certainly interesting how so many ISPs end up having the same bandwidth caps, with little variation. Must be a lot of invisible hands.
