Stefan Prodan posted:honestly, I don't even have a problem believing that some insane people made tons of money off bitcoin, that's how gambling works! some people win! I just don’t care. If I bought 2 million cans of puréed tomatoes WITH butts WITHOUT CASHING OUT 2 million usable dollars, then I would be with some medium of exchange like Yen or Rubles. But I would be able to supply my pizza chain with something better to cook with than krokadil and child pornography. You can cash out $20k bitcoins as long as you put in the work to get through the process, much less the incredible nonsense you need to give some chinaman with deeply invasive ID-theft potential and literally affecting the price with a tiny tiny sum. I can use an ATM card at my bank or Kroger to get as much as $5k out in cash dollars in about 10 minutes if you count time to drive. If you have to cash out through the process more involved the stopping by your rural bank and waiting for them to bring in more cash in the 1:30 delivery (banks, especially rural ones, rarely have $20k dollars on hand but can give it to you with no fees or gossip about how you must be a thoroughly disgusting pedophile because you have BTC in ANY amount, but it’s a pretty smooth process and you can usually get a free meal/couple of bourbon sours from the bank manager to ease you through the “ordeal”). There will never, in any scenario, be some large increase in Bitcoiin use until we get some NAMBLA guy in the Oval Office and a few (more) drug dealers in the legislative branch. The globalists can’t even get us to lift the embargo on Cuba, with both Houses and the Executive on board. If China is the only world superpower after 2045 even they won’t get hyper-adoption, the newly rich will be too happy spending their highly useful Yuan.

Well over half a million dollars as an inheritance from one relative's death, but yeah, you had five hundred bucks in your pocket and no connections and no support of any kind. Sure. Just imagine being this oblivious to one's immense privilege.

Wait, so when actual currency becomes worthless then the fake stock market internet gambling tokens are supposed to step up to the plate? One is kind of heavily dependent on the other. If you don't have a stable economy generating actual money people can gamble with then cryptocurrency is worthless. Until a use for it is actually ever figured out at least.

You cannot get btc into buying a piece of Academy Sports shop or infused into the supply chain of potatoes to McDonald’s. Hell, you can’t use Euros to buy a small order of Fries at McDonald’s, without cashing them into dollars by a company ouside of the chain that will not “help” because coiiners are altruistic, they demand large fees. Crypto will never be mainstream. There will never be more coiinerds than the idiots (including the people who spend all their cash on scratch-off lottery tickets.)Even lottery winners have to drive to Nashville to turn in a few-thousand dollar winner for money. Which is a check. Which people know is for cash. Trusted (even after the Wild West, company script, and state bankruptcy that cash has had in the past). Even Republicans won’t give their own son $20k to buy child porn. There will never be hyperbuttdoption for the very, very specific mission why it hasn’t already happened. You can’t trust it or the people who have it like a plague warning on a hospital room. Which is why even people without “mainstream” jobs laugh at you when you bring it up, like CamGirls.
