Has somebody commented on how bad our protagonist's sleeping posture is (probably)? because its hillarious how weird and bad their sleeping posture is. I imagine its because they didn't want to animate them getting out of bed from a more normal position.

I'm pretty impressed. Watched my friend run this on mostly "medium" settings on a 1050 TI card, 16 gb ram, 1920X1080 resolution, SSD drive.... on an i3-2120. He turned off all the known system killers and slow downs like cascaded shadow. Even the outdoor driving scenes that people said killed their system were running fine. I was eventually going to buy this on PS4 because I was certain my PC would struggle with it. Comparatively it looks and plays smoother on his ancient hardware.

Minor prologue spoilers: How do I actually get the money on the credit chip Militech gave me? I cleaned it with the breach protocol game and Dexter even said something about me keeping that money. Is there like a fence or someone I have to go? Also I'll throw in my 2c on the PC optimization, I have a Ryzen 3700X and RTX 2080 (non super), playing 1440p with everything including raytracing set to ultra, DLSS on balanced and I get a steady 45 FPS, which isn't ideal but bumping raytracing to medium only gives like 5 more so gently caress it. I haven't experienced any slowdown when driving or in shootouts or anything. Humerus fucked around with this message at 22:33 on Dec 10, 2020 |

Has anyone tried to collect the technical information getting buried in the thread? Maybe something to add to the OP? Here's what I have: -If you feel DLSS is too soft turn on the Nvidia overlay, hit (configurable) alt+3 and turn on a sharpness filter. -Some people report that turning down Shadow Cascades makes a huge performance difference. -Don't overclock your GPU memory as it will likely cause crashes. If you are getting crashes check that you don't have a factory memory OC or try even underclocking it with afterburner/precision. Core clock OC does not seem to affect stability but you might check if your OC is voltage limited in gpuz. My fps increased in particularly heavy scenes (which actually tend to be dialogue oddly) when I increased voltage. -Check your cooling. Some of the graphical glitches are classic signs of GPU overheating. This is particularly true if your frames take a dive as you play the game because cards will downclock when they get too hot. -There may be a way to bind the unbindable keys I haven't tested but some in the comments report it works. -If your frames are lower than you expect keep in mind this game seems to be more CPU dependent than other AAA games. This is exaggerated further when running at 1080p. I haven't tested the difference for CPU oc but it might be a way to help. With an i5-9600k (OC'd to 5ghz) and a 2080 I seem to be getting more consistent frames than people with worse CPUs and 30xx cards. If the game is as threaded as some indicate then recent AMD CPUs are probably doing better than me too. I'd guess gaming laptops might have a particular problem with this. -You might also try playing the game some before obsessing too much with settings in the starting area. You spend a lot of time doing slow paced RPG stuff so staying above > 60fps all the time might be less important than normal. -???

Got the Endless Dum-Dum bug where if Dum-Dum is your ally he follows you forever. Best workaround is to fast travel away from the Food Factory, He'll stay outside the factory forever and if you get close to him again he'll start following you again, but there hasn't been much reason to do that yet, so I've gotten rid of him so far. Or, I guess you could have a permanent Maelstrom bodyguard for the rest of the game?

I did go down the route, the game basically says you should get the money but you don't. I can't speak to previous poster about depositing it since I don't know how to do that. The chip stays in your inventory after the quest though so doing something with it or them giving it a sell value in a patch are both conceivable

So, a question around crafting: is it possible to always get your hands on a peice of gear again if you dismantle/lose it? The main reason I ask is that it appears you can't craft top tier stuff without putting 20 points into technical, so if that's the only way to get stuff back, then I know if I'm not going down that tree that I need to hold onto stuff with specific tiers. Basically I like having a range of fashion in games like this for shits and giggles, but it would be handy to know if most stuff I can dismantle with some way of getting it again later, be that a drop, or whatever. I'm guessing this game doesn't have transmog or anything like that. What about unique quest items?

Nothing really that breaks my flow or anything. The performance however is choppy even with rtx turned off. Insie I get 100+ fps but there's busy places in the city where it'd drop to low 40s though, and when cruising at top speed it is a bit janky. That's my only real issue right now.

FuzzySlippers posted:-There may be a way to bind the unbindable keys I haven't tested but some in the comments report it works. Thanks for this! From a post in another thread, here's what I'm doing on an RX 5700 with a 3440x1440 monitor: Enabling dynamic resolution gives significant fps and frame time stability without visibly increasing the fuzzies that I've noticed. For non-DLSS, that's through the Dynamic FidelityFX CAS option. Turn that on then set a reasonable fps target close to what your make/break point is so the game isn't being asked to hit fps that it can't achieve without dropping res significantly. For eg., without dynamic res I get about 40-55 fps depending @ 3440x1440. I'd like to maintain 48+ fps to stay in my monitor's freesync range (though LFC will handle lower fps). So I set a dynamic fps target of 55 fps and set a Minimum Resolution limit of 90% while leaving max at 100%. The game is almost always over 55 fps now and I can't tell the difference in visuals - have tried switching back a forth in a few scenes and it's just not visible to me.
