For some reason I can craft purple spells without the greasemonkey skill, assuming armor mods are like that too and I could break crafting sooner but maybe not.

The game is missing a info log or message/convo log to see what the hell you picked up. I keep finding things in my inventory or crafting inventory for things I have no clue where I picked up. Or even dialogue for missions, sometime I wanna read through what was said because I accidentally press skip dialogue or move away too soon.

I like how all the cars you can buy are 20k and up, I bought one that was 115k. But in a nomad side-gig you find you're original car but someone else claims it's theirs and you can buy them off for 100bux which V claims is a good deal because they can just buy another car with that money. I know full well the gecko costs 40k game. Additionally, good-guy ripperdoc Vik completely screws you for poo poo cybernetics, charging you 21k for what amounts to MAYBE 10k in common quality cybernetics. The blue replacement cyber eyeball is 3k and the cyber handjob is about the same. But, you know, he did you a solid! All worth it for saving your life later on, but still. I feel like maybe cybernetics were a hell of a lot more expensive earlier on in development. Possibly cars were dirt cheap as well.

I’m curious why CDPR picked the Cyberpunk 2077 setting to build a game (franchise) around. At least with the Witcher games, you can see them engage with the universe and characters in a way that suggests they’re big fans of the fictional universe etc. For CP2077, there’s nothing in game that suggests any engagement with the fictional universe. The quests, characters, fluff in the form of shards etc. could easily be applied to a generic small-c cyberpunk game.

Okay Beat on the Brat? This questline? It can thoroughly go gently caress itself. There's no way to visually determine if an enemy will land a hit so you just... dodge, and hope, randomly. If they are going to hit you it doesn't matter how far away you are, at all. And the enemies take like 50 strong attacks or more.

hump day bitches! posted:9k per headshot ? how ? Pistol perks? Some pistols have 2-3x more damage to head modifier. Silencers give 2.5x more damage when stealthed. So it all amounts to stupid headshots when body hits do maybe 1/10-1/20 of the headshot damage. My current favourite tactic is to go full solid snake, just crawling around and headshotting people with a silenced revolver. You can clear everything quite easily with that and enemies never have a clue.

WoodrowSkillson posted:to be clear, im not claiming its a bad game at all, just that this is far less of a labor of love like their witcher games and is far more of a normal AAA dev just looking for profit. yes an no, there is so much more flavor in the game than I even imagined at hour 30, just encountering random conversations in the world, having poo poo like that vending machine friend just randomly that I run into, certain stuff isn't clearly intractable but causes stuff to happen at times, so there's much more than a basic RPG in here. Visually it's very crafted, areas tell tons of stories and the density of the world is really phenomical at times even if the crowds aren't that amazing, and the verticality of the world is next level so to speak. Witcher 3 got totally boring to me because finding poo poo in the world never helped me, you end up finding better poo poo that you can buy long before the worse stuff that you can craft is unlocked, so instead you rush the story and it takes for loving ever and it's just not my favorite thing in the world. Beautiful though.

Dapper_Swindler posted:probably because it has a ready set universe and poo poo CDPR got a solid and lore-rich starting point, but I don't think you can get this game by just typing in stuff from the lorebooks and arranging VA. They've had to interpret the material a fair bit as they played it forward in time. It's less of a turnkey universe than the Witcher one was, I think, though there's more expository detail available for an earlier era of it.

There is also a world of difference between a setting that is intended to have a singular character and narrative be the focus (The Witcher) and a pen and paper setting that is meant to be a backdrop for people to roleplay their own stories in (Cyberpunk 2020)
