game is fun, but is clearly a giant step down from Witcher 3 in quality, writing, etc. They just want cash now and that is obvious
I don't know what game you're playing, but the narrative is fun and engaging and the characterization is solid. Game is buggy and it's clear that lot of features were dropped in favor of 2020 release, but the writing is really not the thing to be complaining about here.

It's not Disco Elysium, but it's legitimately interesting and entertaining.

For some reason I can craft purple spells without the greasemonkey skill, assuming armor mods are like that too and I could break crafting sooner but maybe not.

What does the "full potential at body level 6" mean basically? The recoil does not matter but the accuracy is piss poor. I try to hit one guy and 2 guys behind him die, but the actual guy I aimed for does not. So the aim gets better when I meet the stat reqs or what?

Note that the listed damage is 1200, but the DPS is 600. Weapons that you don't meet stat requirements for ("full potential") deal half damage, but I am not sure if anything else changes.

that's not why the DPS is listed at ~700, which is attributable to the 0.3 Attacks Per Second

The game is missing a info log or message/convo log to see what the hell you picked up. I keep finding things in my inventory or crafting inventory for things I have no clue where I picked up. Or even dialogue for missions, sometime I wanna read through what was said because I accidentally press skip dialogue or move away too soon.

At the 5 minute mark it shows a guy getting hacked from the stealth takedown position. This poo poo looks so Ghost in the Shell! That looks fun and engaging.

Maaaaan, the more I look at the past stuff surrounding this game, the more I'm seeing how this game is so very different from the hyped version and it's making me want to return it. :smith:

Between this and that one video showing the remote Monowire hack I get the feeling that at some point only devices were wi-fi hackable and bodies needed a hardline which probably would have been a lot more balanced than some of the crazy poo poo you can do with little effort now.

I like how all the cars you can buy are 20k and up, I bought one that was 115k. But in a nomad side-gig you find you're original car but someone else claims it's theirs and you can buy them off for 100bux which V claims is a good deal because they can just buy another car with that money. I know full well the gecko costs 40k game.

Additionally, good-guy ripperdoc Vik completely screws you for poo poo cybernetics, charging you 21k for what amounts to MAYBE 10k in common quality cybernetics. The blue replacement cyber eyeball is 3k and the cyber handjob is about the same. But, you know, he did you a solid! All worth it for saving your life later on, but still.

I feel like maybe cybernetics were a hell of a lot more expensive earlier on in development. Possibly cars were dirt cheap as well.

I’m curious why CDPR picked the Cyberpunk 2077 setting to build a game (franchise) around. At least with the Witcher games, you can see them engage with the universe and characters in a way that suggests they’re big fans of the fictional universe etc.

For CP2077, there’s nothing in game that suggests any engagement with the fictional universe. The quests, characters, fluff in the form of shards etc. could easily be applied to a generic small-c cyberpunk game.

Okay Beat on the Brat? This questline? It can thoroughly go gently caress itself. There's no way to visually determine if an enemy will land a hit so you just... dodge, and hope, randomly. If they are going to hit you it doesn't matter how far away you are, at all.

And the enemies take like 50 strong attacks or more.

Where's the cyberdeck everyone is saying to buy for 32k? I've got the Akira bike and with pistols I'm doing literally 9000 damage with headshots so I guess it's time to get completely OP

and I'm only at 30/10/10 on story missions and have only done about half the gigs in Watson and Japantown lol

It already one shots enemies to the body on Very Hard. When I manage to land a hit. It just is extremely inaccurate. Shotguns feel more accurate than that pistol.

The ripperdoc in Watson, Charles Buck ( the one closest to a circular plaza and a netrunner shop in the second floor) has one. There's another legendary deck for sale with Nina by Grant Ave by the Luxury Apartments fast travel point.45k and street cred level of 29.

probably because it has a ready set universe and poo poo. they bought the rights or whatever in like 2008 or some time like that. the creators loved playing the game because it was something they played the poo poo out of in the 90s.

Pistol perks? Some pistols have 2-3x more damage to head modifier. Silencers give 2.5x more damage when stealthed. So it all amounts to stupid headshots when body hits do maybe 1/10-1/20 of the headshot damage.

My current favourite tactic is to go full solid snake, just crawling around and headshotting people with a silenced revolver. You can clear everything quite easily with that and enemies never have a clue.

yes an no, there is so much more flavor in the game than I even imagined at hour 30, just encountering random conversations in the world, having poo poo like that vending machine friend just randomly that I run into, certain stuff isn't clearly intractable but causes stuff to happen at times, so there's much more than a basic RPG in here. Visually it's very crafted, areas tell tons of stories and the density of the world is really phenomical at times even if the crowds aren't that amazing, and the verticality of the world is next level so to speak.

Witcher 3 got totally boring to me because finding poo poo in the world never helped me, you end up finding better poo poo that you can buy long before the worse stuff that you can craft is unlocked, so instead you rush the story and it takes for loving ever and it's just not my favorite thing in the world. Beautiful though.

CDPR got a solid and lore-rich starting point, but I don't think you can get this game by just typing in stuff from the lorebooks and arranging VA. They've had to interpret the material a fair bit as they played it forward in time. It's less of a turnkey universe than the Witcher one was, I think, though there's more expository detail available for an earlier era of it.
