Haachama got 11 out of 25 on the test. To be fair though a lot of those questions had answers that basically meant the same thing and she got the gist of what the questions were asking.

JRPGs as a genre don't really require you to be good at them at any level to progress seeing as how the main draw is the plot and characters. Unless i guess you play mainline SMT games, but that's more a form of performative masochism than anything else.

Hachama's reading comprehension is pretty high, the tests she takes would trip up a plenty of native english speakers because it's mostly grammar based, and I don't blame her infamous spelling errors because it's not her native language. Among Hololive bi-linguals she's near the top though, but Kiara and Ollie are savants on a totally different level and Coco is fluent in both Japanese and English but just has...Coco's voice. I'd love to see some more crossover english/japanese learning streams. I want Cali teaching Aruran slang, Coco, Kiara, and Ollie hosting the "English Telephone game" and Ame/Karone collaborating because they're both great at just picking up the absolutely weirdest phrases in each other's tongue.

I think a big factor of Kiara being fluent in Japanese is she's not afraid to practice it. Learning a language by conversing with speakers much more fluent than you is a nerve-wracking process. I know that some people (the French in particular) get really grumpy if you speak too slow or badly. Anyway in Calli's Minecraft stream she managed to tame a cat, despite accidentally attacking it a couple of times. Then while she was redecorating her house she was telling a story about how she and Kiara went (were to go?) on a vacation together and her stream just got cut off wtf

Sometimes he forgets how to say a word in English and becomes convinced his English is totally terrible and everyone's going to think he's a dumbass because of it. My response is usually to laugh and tell him to think about how (un)successfully most of the people he's talking to would reply in French.
