Think of the investment that society has made into each individual vs. the potential contribution they have left. Children are disposable because not many resources have been invested yet, while old people are disposable because they do not have much left to contribute. People in their early 20s that are about to finish their education or recently did are the most precious and should get the vaccine first. Sounds like a very modest proposal Nocheez posted:I still wonder about the piss tape sometimes. Maybe piss tape has a different meaning in Russia, something about getting caught with your pants down. The piss tape is real imo and I already posted it itt. They weren't pissing on Trump they were pissing on a bed that Obama slept in when he visited Russia. That one jurassic park meme: This guy's guy the piss tape! He's got the piss tape! See? Nobody cares haljordan posted:Again, WAY too complex a theory. All Putin had to do was tell Trump what a strong handsome boy he is (and dangle the possibility of making money in Russia) and Trump will happily do whatever. Trump is a stone cold dumb dumb, not a fuckin' Bond Villain. I agree with this for the most part, but I'm keeping an open mind with regards to the kgb having some kompromat. It's known that Donald has been bailed out by Russians with close ties to the government in the past, they've had their eye on him for a long time. The idea that they just never bothered to collect poo poo on him is actually kind of hard to believe. Beachcomber posted:Can anyone tell me why we aren't seeing hellish videos of overcrowded covid wards and stacks full of corpses? I thought fear sold well. That's been the general way news has been reported for a long time now--by and large, the closest you'd get to seeing dead soldiers during the Iraq Wars, for example, would be a few pictures of flag-draped coffins, and even those would be rare (yes, the military was part of that by limiting access, but even when photos were available the media would usually refuse to show them). Fear may sell, but dead bodies seem to be a step too far, generally speaking.

I read an article positing that Trump might have a mental break before/on the 20th because of his inability to accept failure. his neuroses are a dam blocking the knowledge that he's actually a nothing nobody and that dam is starting to crack lol. as soon as any part of him accepts he lost 2020, a whole lot of other loses are gonna come flooding in. he lost 2016- the popular vote went to Clinton. he was awful for the gop in the mid terms, there were parties in the streets after the networks called it. etc etc.

SRQ posted:I read an article positing that Trump might have a mental break before/on the 20th because of his inability to accept failure. I mean, Trump is like... pretty obviously actually a narcissist. Like personality disorder narcissist. He doesn't want to face the idea that he lost, because doing so means he failed and someone like him can't fail. So he's avoiding thinking about it, indulging in fantasies and magical thinking, and is pretty much already non-functioning. It's his last days in office, a critical aid package is being negotiated in the senate, COVID is taking off and there's a new strain in the UK that Europe is worried about, and we just got hit by a shockingly massive cyber attack from Russia. He's doing... nothing. Sitting somewhere all day browsing twitter and retweeting whoever lets him imagine he's still gonna be president. There's a lot of poo poo he could and should be doing and he's not doing any of it. He's not taking this well at all, and when his loss becomes something he can't ignore, he's not gonna take that super well either.

I don't know why this thread argues that republican's wouldn't do x or y there is no logic to their poo poo beyond what will gently caress poor people and keep them in power. That's it. Everything else is fair game.
