The Expanse was an amazing space noir +  for the first two seasons, I got mega bored after the second season.

Watching The Expanse and knowing it all started as a table top RPG campaign and it all makes sense. Like a random party member in the first season just randomly gets his head blown off, that's because that player dropped out of the game.

See, when people have children a part of raising them is the fact that they will have entertainment they like and which you by proxy will be exposed to, and since most early childhood television is very simple and repetitive by nature of its intended audience it is incredibly annoying to the parents that are forced to endure it for the sake of having a happy/quiet kid. Also when kids get a little older they turn on the baby shows they used to like to show how mature they are, hating Caillou and wanting him to be grounded grounded grounded for 1.94 million years is just the zoomer version of lovely 90s Kill Barney humor.

Shows that both kids and parents can enjoy are a rare thing indeed. Lately the one I can think of is “Bluey”, a show about australian dog people and it’s fantastic. Just really good entertainment with kids or not imo.

I actually still don’t hate it though. Kids put on that grinch CG movie at xmas time on netflix and I was like NEVER AGAIN though. It was excruciatingly bad.

It did expose a lot of the spam techniques on youtube and finally got them to change their algorithm (which then finally lead them to changing the algorithm to be less of a radicalization tool).

The problem with The Expanse is it talks too much geopolitic for a sci-fi show that has very childish geopolitic setup. It's like Legend of Galaxy Heroes with training wheels.
