Their official explanation is that it's circumventing their content policies and the Steam Distribution Agreement. It was around the same time they made a similar change because games that had a year of EGS exclusivity would put up a Steam page a year in advance and advertise to go get it from EGS instead.

Those sites were always fun because there would be a forum that people who bought the game at EGS would go to for support and discussion and instead it was always just people screaming about how the devs had betrayed them. There's still a guy in the Rebel Galaxy Outlaw forum that's screeching like a howler monkey and for some reason they won't ban him.

I could definitely go for a sequel to Long Live the Queen with more of everything, especially the game being longer and with more time for all the different skills to see some use. My main complaint with LLTQ (and the Magical Diary games) is that there's a lot of skills, but the game's length doesn't really let them feel like you've made a long-term impactful choice. They're each usually used for 1 or 2 checks and then the game is kind of over. Granted, that one check might be the difference between life and death in LLTQ, but still  I appreciate that it would be a tremendous amount of work for a tiny (single person?) indy outfit to make something like what I want though.

I'm sure there's several mods for replacing the CK3 art with anime already. Also while it would be amusing to say that Crusader Kings 3 is Long Live the Queen but with incest, the statement probably wouldn't be doing either game any favors as far as tempering expectations goes
