How to survey a house site 1. Plot floor plan and calculate greater square 2. Drive to job 3. Find three traverse marks from older surveys, set up theodolite on one with best view of the job 4. Set bearing to the most distant mark, measure the other mark and check it matches to previous survey 5. Direct assistant to corner of the greater square, hammer in marker peg. 6. Measure to top of peg, correcting until the point of the measurement staff is within 5mm of correct location. Mark with a divot in the top of the peg, Write down and record measurement. 7. Repeat with other corners of the square 8. Drive in a marker stake in an out of the way place, measure to the top of the stake, subtract the floor height from the level of the top of the stake. Have your assistant put nails in the divots of the corner pegs and hammer in marker stakes while you do this. 9. Using a tape measure, measure down from the top of the stake to the floor height and make two pencil marks. rule a line between them. 10. Measure the level of the pencil mark and check that it matches the floor height. 11. Use a permanent marker to mark the line, draw a shankless arrow pointing down to the line, write the floor level above, and drive a nail halfway in so that the top side of it is aligned with the floor level. 12. Using the most distant corner peg, set the bearing to 0°00'00" 13. Record location of all new pegs, then measure back to the traverse mark you originally set the survey from. 14. Tape measure between corner pegs and compare to floor plan. 15. Check job order has been fulfilled while assistant checks all gear is back in the truck. 16. Back at the office, swing the second set of measurements into place and check that all measurements match the corners 17. Hand job over to boss for sign off. List of episodes in series 6b of BBC comedy Plotting Out This series is only known by fragmentary evidence from a damaged BBC archive made up of release notes provided to the TV listing magazine Radio Times. It is largely agreed that this series was never broadcast, especially as some suggested events do not fit into the broader continuity. It remains unclear if post-production or indeed even filming was completed, and along with a number of other episodes known never to have made it past the script stage this series is known amongst fans as “the failed harvest.” The longer than normal period between series 5 and 6 supports the theory that series 6b was filmed but the tapes destroyed or lost before broadcast. 1. Turkish Delight A long-forgotten holiday romance catches up with Les when a young Arabic woman [fragment ends]. 2. Barren Rob and Sally camp out on the moors while Terry and his wife receive some heart-breaking news. 3. ABBA fan The annual allotment singalong causes the compost heap to slip dangerously. 4. Asylum Terry is sectioned after he claims to have seen a Somali man asking for help on the allotment. 5. Grass Rob and Sally decide to spruce up the paths, while Terry’s big mouth gets him in trouble with some old prison friends. 6. Poppy Tempers flare when Les and Terry strike a deal with an Afghan warlord to provide an out-of-season crop for Remembrance Sunday. 7. Ring Rob has a surprise in store for Sally, and tempers flare when Terry’s piles burst. 8. Spitfire The Royal British Legion are called in after Rob makes an unsettling discovery while digging a new potato patch. 9. Refugees The Somali asylum seeker is found hiding in Rob’s shed, and Terry’s wife finally leaves him for good after he punches her in the face. 10. Xmas Special – Iced Rob and his family arrive at the allotment to find all the water butts frozen, while Terry is shot dead by a mafia hitman. Trivia: In 1994 the British Plotting Out Fan Club The Heavy Plotters offered a £3000 reward (2020 equiv: £5,100/$6,750) for any information about series 6b, hoping to attract the attention of a former BBC staff member. Unfortunately no-one came forward and the money went unclaimed. Sanford has a new favorite as of 17:17 on Dec 13, 2020 |

List of Covid-19 lockdown rule breaches I have seen from my office window today and if anyone challenged them. 1) Ivan came and stood in the door with no mask while the coal people were delivering his coal. The coal woman asked him to go back inside. 2) Builder Dave talked to a young woman with a pram for 20 minutes. They started off ~2m apart but ended up less than half that. 3) The big woman who swears at her kids put some rubbish into my dustbin, and then lit a cigarette. My bin is not sanitary. 4) Next-Door Dave had a visitor who said “I’ll not get out because of the virus!” so he went and leaned in her car window for a chat instead. 5) Mr Chun at the Chinese takeaway coughed violently into his hand, and then continued sorting the new menus into piles. 6) Mad Dave ran after the postman shouting “Eyup! This in’t for us!” The postman made him back up and leave the erroneously delivered letter on a hedge rather than handing it over directly. 7) Ivan is currently complaining to Builder Dave, his neighbour, about the coal woman making a fuss about masks. They are standing less than two feet apart, and almost yelling into each other’s faces. Edit: List of people who are really bored and hate their job 1) Me 2) Almost everyone else
