As Clan Mors, Tilea declared war on me, dragging Karaz-a-Karak, Reikland, Couronne et al into war with me, too. When I'd had literally no interaction with Tilea up to that point in the campaign. God I loving hate diplomacy in this game...

Easy Campaign difficulty as Tyr- (per suggestions here) Turn 1 - Go exploring as I'm sure I'll have time before enemies show up Turn 2 - Dark elf army shows up, BARELY defeat them Turn 3 - Two more armies show up, fmlok Reload back to Turn 1 so I can instead turtle-up and recruit a bunch of guys rather than go ranging  Now on turn 10 of round 2 and it's going much better. Only some of the elves hate me and I took out one of the DarkElf factions.

also the first 20 or so turns you generally want to stay near your home province as the ai will punish you for leaving provinces undefended  this is why it is highly recommended to builds walls before you decide to go adventuring as a small half stack and a garrison can defend against a lot of enemies until higher tier stuff shows up

drat it to hell. I played dwarfs and it’s just too easy suddenly. As long as I focus on getting a couple of grudgethrowers and take black crag there is nobody to stop me from doing whatever I want. Mors never took off. Karak Azul is taking the darklands from eshin and caledor. Zhufbar is holding firm and Kadrin is taking Sylvania. Barak Varr is eating Wurrzag. Man I should just reload and just turtle for 50 rounds to make it more interesting. Houserule that i can’t expand beyond Silver roads until my capital is level 4?

I've been using the mod that lets you adjust the AI's autoresolve odds against each other to ensure I have some stuff to fight. Bumping Grimgor, Vlad, Manfred, and all of Norsca up a couple pegs usually does the trick.

Mannered and Grimgor definitely are way funner when they get a boost against AI.

Tried out the legendary chaos invasions on SFO and they basically wiped out all humans (and all dark elves) on the map. They came down south and knocked on my forest in Athel Loren so I had to take out 4 stacks of chaos boys on my own. Pretty sure they got more stacks lurking up north too. It was pretty cool to see the entire north of the map basically be chaos territory for once

There isn't really a reason not to play Skaven They got monstrous cavalry, great monsters, fast infantry with a ton of variation, the best ranged units, tons of artillery and great spells + the best campaign mechanics. You can do combined arms, doomstacks or gimmick armies all day

The main reason not to play Skaven is that they have gotten powercreeped every single DLC they've been in, and are currently extremely overpowered in campaign. The only campaign of theirs I wouldn't classify as a complete stomp right now is ME Snikch, and that's mainly just because he starts in the rear end-end of nowhere. Edit: Arguably also ME Skrolk, but I'd argue that there are others starting in the Lustrian thunderdome in ME that have a tougher time of it.
