Micah's blobs seem to show him as a solid offensive guy who can get torched defensively overall, and that he's having a pretty rough year on both ends so far.

he's a good 3rd liner. he has a tendency to take very dumb penalties, because I think he might be
a very dumb person. he has another great that he hits in the playoffs when the refs trend to put their whistles away. the flames will absolutely regret trading him.

Even assuming all this is true, when you have a third liner who thinks he should be a top six guy and won't shut up about it, you'll hurt your team either way if you keep him. Not much to do but send him off to his self-chosen destiny of playing top six minutes on a bad team.

there is no indication he's ever acted like this. he's been saddled with Jankowskis and Lucic types. he can't elevate them. he's a 3rd line getting treated like a borderline nhler this year and he has every right to complain.

I caught this tweet this morning and was extremely concerned that a trade had occurred.

I think large swaths of the Habs fandom don't seem to know how to handle the team being good (which, like, understandable) and are adamant that everyone who's not performing at a "maybe the best in the NHL" -level ought to be traded. Also, a whole bunch of "competitive athlete thinks he should have a better role than he does? get him outta here!"

Could be right yeah, who knows. I mean it's obvious he's fallen out with the coach but who the hell knows what's really going on.

Bennett was pretty much mismanaged by the Flames every year after his rookie year... that said he's a good 3rd liner who's haunted by his draft slot.

Edit: The fact that Lucic hasn't been healthy scratched ahead of him just shows it.

The league is full of Sam Bennett's and they go by without acclaim or criticism. The problem with Sam Bennett is that he was drafted 4 OA.

There's probably some sort of strange, self-contained space helmet design they could come up with to keep all the players in self-contained atmospheres

Granted when someone passes out because Marchand slashes through an oxygen tube I suppose that's just as bad as anything

Marchand would never slash an air tube, hes not some kind of monster.

He would yank out the filters and lick them.

Playoffs are no big deal,
don't have a crap attack.
In speaking about Bennett, what happened to Dal Colle? He was a good scorer in the OHL, and that seems to have instantly vanished when he got to the AHL.

I am just happy the Leafs got Nylander in that draft, because there were a few landmines.

I love this angle of ref staring right at an obvious penalty occurring in front of another visibly flinching ref (linesman?) and going yep that's cool.

Pretty sure the best Frontenac ever drafted is still Chris Gratton. Recent top Frontenac picks include Erik Gudbranson, Sam Bennett, and Lawson Crouse. The team's record of producing NHLers is dire.

The linesman is all set to blast the whistle and break up a scrum expecting that play has already been stopped, then does a double-take, glances at both refs, sees no penalty is called and has no idea what to do.
