The thing we've learned here is that as far as we can tell within this period of time- deplatforming works. Booting Trump and bunches of his surrogates and Qpeople and other whackjobs off of Twitter/Facebook/etc measurably decreased the size of the bullshit waterfall coming out of those places, if reports are to be believed. This also means that the general mental health of our society is pretty much dependent on tech giants, so lmao As for the 30% dead-enders who want everyone not like them dead that Tori talks about- yeah they exist and the only way to stop them is to be continuously slapping their hands away from the levers of power and brutalizing them with state violence. Is the latter bad? Yup. Are we at the point where people who consider themselves at least nominally leftist have to kinda grit their teeth and tolerate the existence of the letter agencies (most of which should be abolished) if they decide to turn their guns on these people? I kinda think so.  I'd still abolish the CIA/FBI in a heartbeat though if the opportunity was there, but our overbudgeted/opaque/overpowered apparatus of state violence possibly being directed at the dead-end revanchist part of America is better than it being entirely directed at socialist knitting circles or advocates for minorities.
