That kinda poo poo is a glimpse into the near future where AI VFX are powerful enough to essentially replicate the fidelity of the real world and produce stunning and very hosed up imagery.

Iirc people have died while working on wind turbines, because the turbines caught fire and there was no way to get to the ladder. A parachute might not be the worst idea.

I’m fairly certain I’ve seen a video or gif in the OSHA thread of someone using the system and it’s definitely a line they quickly but safely descend on. It may even be a continuation of that gif. Edit: here’s the video https://youtu.be/mhtHTb1diwI

If that thing were on fire, it’d be the longest 2.5 minutes of your life, hoping the fire doesn’t melt your line, geez. I would think it could go a lot faster and still be totally safe?

If you're cutting it that close, the turbine is probably going to be racing you to the ground.

If the thing catches fire and you're lucky enough to be able to get inside to the exit hatch, you still have to pray the rope doesn't melt.

On the other hand, it’s gotta be much more pleasant to fall to your death instead of burning alive, so that’s a plus. And hey, if you make it most of the way down, you might only break all your bones. Still preferable to burning alive!

IIRC there's at least one instance of workers dying on top of one of those things after it caught on fire.

You'd think a fan that big would keep any fire from starting.
