I've been bingeing the Goldbergs and have gotten to the sixth season. I'm okay with them muddling up 80s events even though it feels a little lazy but at the end of season five Barry and Jackie were seniors and should be in college in season six! It was concrete! Are they just going to have Adam in Barry both be seniors?!

Okay, I love Casino, but what the gently caress happened to Lester Diamond? It's weird that he was such a big part of the story, but at the end of the movie, we're watching characters we've seen once or twice getting popped while Diamond is never mentioned again after the kidnapping plot.

Sam doesn't actually confront Diamond after the kidnapping attempt, he tries to put the fear of god into him during the prior incident where he sits down with them in the diner and then has his people beat the poo poo out of him. I believe the last time we see Lester is when he's insisting Ginger is insane for thinking Sam would send anyone after them, and then she ends up flying back with their daughter with no mention of him.

Exploration is ill-advised.
Sometimes happens in movies. I recall The Grand Budapest Hotel has one minor villain vanish from the plot after basically accomplishing what he set out to do, and a newspaper near the end of the movie actually brings up that up.

Lester is specifically Sam's problem regarding his wife, and was dealt with accordingly with threats. Once Ginger & his daughter returned, Lester is no longer a threat (especially since Ginger made no attempt to get back with him again).

All the guys that were killed in the end were tied to the mob, who was cleaning house after the Feds came for them.

The mob might have killed Lester Diamond if they knew about him but Sam kept the Lester/Ginger stuff under wraps. That's a huge part of his character: how tightly he tries to control things.

Okay, that makes a lot of sense. As far as I know, it was only Nicky, Frank, and a few goons that knew what was going on with Lester and Ginger. And Frank already showed that he was willing to sacrifice his life for a lie if it would keep the peace.

Arrival is on Windows Movie House and my IIMM is when movies set in the real world use made-up news channels. Couldn't you spend the :10bux: to get the license for CNN, BBC, or something equivalent?

I was going to include Fox News in there too but :lmao:.

The weird part is, a real news channel adds to the immersion, but real news anchors don't.

Like the last Mission Impossible movie. It wasn't so much, "I'm watching a real newscast" but more "Wolf Blitzer's in a movie!"

I dunno, Gary England's cameo was the most realistic part of the movie Twister. When he retired, people said we'd just have to stop having any more tornadoes.

I'm watching Searching and my IIMM is Margo looks nothing like her parents Pamela or David.

For those unaware...

Pamela (played by Sara Sohn)

+

David (played by John Cho)

=

Margo (played by Michelle La)

For the face blind: Michelle La's face is pretty round (especially in the film) compared to the long, thin faces Sara Sohn & John Cho have.

I think we are all trained not to expect people in movies to resemble the people they are related to in the movie or tv show.

If you can believe the 3 Dunphy kids on Modern Family are related to their parents and to each other you’ll let anything slide.

There was a buddy-cop movie that came out last year called “Coffee and Kareem” where, I guess, the one cops last name is Coffee. I’ve never seen it and never will, but there is no way that the title didn’t come before everything else.

It's one of those "Child actor swears a lot" comedies. Kareem is like 12.

It's not good, obviously.

One of my brothers looks so much like grandpa (and nothing like his mom, dad, or other siblings) that photos of grandpa as a young man just look exactly like my brother using old timey instagram filters.

The way someone explained it to me was that it's tempting to think of mixing DNA like mixing paint in a bucket, but it's more like shuffling a deck of cards. The cards don't change or blend at all, they're literally the same cards, just in a different order and combination.

My brother and I look like each other but no other member of our family within photographic memory. My dad's dead, so if it was the milkman I'd know by now.

Anyway, I inherited my dad's mental imbalance, stomach issues, and migraines.

Unrelated, but anyone who has ever played a Rockstar game can attest to the fact that this is a horrible way to make an actual character generator.
