the daft punk itself that i never listened to before. it seems like they got through the whole early 90s stereolab-ish middle ground between hipster rock and electronic in just 4 songs and then went all in on the synths. you can clearly hear the guitar solos and the disco samples from the start though

Funny because now Laurent is the brains behind Phoenix, which still has that sound and their last two albums have been actual loving masterpieces

Good riddance. DID YOU KNOW THEY AREN'T ACTUALLY ROBOTS?! (Former forums user CrazyEyeGuy just told me "I guess you could say they're Human After All":v:)

Joking aside if you haven't checked out their first US appearance at Further in 1996 it rules as hard as the Coachella show bootleg that turned into Alive 2007.

I enjoyed RAM, but as their final album it's not a great one to go out on. It's also fine if I never ever hear Get Lucky again.

The thing about electronic music is you really only need one robot. The second robot is just for show.

One of the EDM artists I like has 3 robots. Does the 3rd serve any purpose?!

you know what though, i'm far from a connoisseur of anime but insterstella 5555 is easily the best anime i've ever seen. they make every shot count and it's got a really dense storyline for what is basically a string of music videos with no dialogue

also i like that there's a giant machine whose sole function is apparently to put shades on people

it's all on youtube

Same

I wouldn't have agreed back when Homework & Discovery came out. In fact, circa-20-year-old me probably would have listened to RAM and said "wtf is this disco poo poo", without realizing the irony.

Homework had some very cool tracks on it, but also a few scary songs that freaked me out when i was tripping and i was too wigged to change the record so i just let it scream at me.

discovery sounded like some cartoon network poo poo, and the rest was eh
