This women's tournament is starting to feel like a way to soft reboot the entire division, reintroduce Riho and Yuka, and introduce some Japanese folks who will likely be joining the roster soon. And it seems to be working pretty well in that regard!

Very surprised to see Nyla beat Britt. I for sure thought it'd be Britt/Yuka in the finals. I'm hoping Rosa beats Riho for a couple of reasons – I really want to see Rosa/Nyla, and I don't necessarily need to see Nyla/Riho again right now.

Bummed that Dr. Britt lost, I really thought this was her tourney to win (and subsequently start feuds with Riho, Rosa, etc., as champ). But hooooooly poo poo Nyla won me back over after having some quiet months. The match was okay for the start, and Britt’s weird tantrum on the outside/crowd was odd, but I LOVED Nyla shittalking and just smashing the poo poo out of Britt and Reba. I don’t see her winning (she’ll lose to Riho in the US Finals), but her star is definitely back on the rise. Whomever wins the Tourney should definitely have a feud with Nyla sometime in the near future. Also face Nyla (who doesn’t change a thing besides what tunnel she comes out of) would be a great time.

As of right now, the following people could win: Nyla: loving awesome. Absolutely deserves another shot. Her first reign was hamstrung by the pandemic and this is a chance to set it right. Riho: loving awesome. One of the best wrestlers in the world. She'd have a great match with Shida and a great second reign. Rosa: loving awesome. Would be a good moment for a coronation and a "Thunder Rosa is All Elite" celebration (immediately followed by her being attacked by Abadon and the newly signed Holidead... wait, did I say that out loud?) Yuka: loving AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAwesome. So good, so positive, so hard hitting, so funny, there are so many people I want her to fight and the Britt Baker feud is oven ready if you'll excuse the pun. Ryo: loving awesome. I would follow butch hypebeast into the fires of hell and punch out Satan. Give me a Ryo / Nyla feud. Give it to me.

Broken Matt was fantastic, but it had run its course. Big Money Matt feels fresh and works well with how he’s positioned in this company. I wouldn’t be surprised if broken Matt came back a few years down the line when they have new ideas for it.

I feel like Broken Matt needed to go away in the same way that Orange Cassidy needed to move down from big main with Jericho to this midcard feud with Miro. The act still works, but it's firing at half potential without a crowd. Big Money Matt kinda rules though. I thought him with Private Party was a bit random, but it looks like it's helping them develop good characters.

Woken/Broken Matt was a great gimmick in smaller promotions and indies but the hook of it didn't really fit in AEW. The quest for gold stuff was probably the peak of it.

If it’s a casino battle royal then that means we’re getting 21 teams. Aside from the one announced I’d expect the Good Brothers, Th2, Varsity Blondes, Chaos Project, the Sydels, Shawn Dean’s team, natural nightmares, a couple of Gunns and two of the Hunk man stable but that’s still a lot of open spots.
