Fairly Odd Parents guy drew some Attack on Titan characters

He’s being accused of tracing this https://twitter.com/028ton/status/980788218571382785?s=21
But I think that the drawing is lovely enough to not be a trace and just be using it as a reference

Yeah he didn't trace it but the pose is the same. It's not as bad but still lovely to not even try a different pose or something.

It's really pretty! The story is a bit of a generic fusion of Marvel and Japanese folklore, but it's worth picking up for the art.

Her right hand/forearm seems to be a little baby's arm that is attached to her right breast. This is seriously nightmare fuel. Like when you are having a dream and there is something vaguely...human shaped...but when you look at you start to realize everything that is wrong wit it. And then it asks to be let into your house for some reason.

Secretly force socialism, communism and imperialism types of government onto the people of the United States of America.

I'm endeavoring to read through No Man's Land, which was one of the last major arcs that I sort of followed growing up. I'm expecting a mix of mediocre to decent art. Was not expecting the thinly veiled racial stereotypes that have been popping up a lot. I'll post the good and the bad as I find it. Aside from a few covers, so far nothing that I'd call decent yet.

Batman Vol. 1 #555
Pencils: Beatty
Inker: Buscema

Torsos, how do they work?
Robin is almost charmingly doofy looking.

Detective Comics Vol 1 #722
Pencils: Aparo
Inker: Hodgkins

In which Robin becomes grotesquely malformed upon hearing that a woman who is running away from post-quake Gotham with intent to start clean as a credit card scammer is abandoning her daughter.

Finished up Road to No Man's Land Vol. 1

From Shadow of the Bat #76:

Batman's face in the bottom right reminds me of this classic video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92RhDKBMi0w

From Shadow of the Bat #77:

I actually really like the style of these dead college students. Reminds me of something out of Hellboy.

From Detective Comics #724:

In the bottom left panel, there appears to be a man who has merged with a filing cabinet in the background. He is not featured in any other part of this scene. My best guess is that he's supposed to be another cop at GCPD carrying around files? Weird choice. Also, same panel, Barbara's hand seems to be broken, yet holding a coffee cup.

From Batman #559:

Wonky flat head Batman could be stylistically interesting, but drawing his squished head on top of beefy body does not work.

From Detective Comics #726:

I really like the implied animation of the Joker here from panel to panel, and how the Joker is depicted here in general. This is unquestionably the best issue artistically in the volume, and if I recall correctly, seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the Cataclysm/Aftershock storyline!

closing out with another good page from the same issue.

The squishy Batman head one is the most baffling because everything else is drawn fine. Robin looks normal, there is nothing standing out in a strange way about the punks, even Batman from the neck down looks okay. But the face. I wonder if the artist spent all his time making sure everything looked okay, and realized he had 10 seconds to go before having to send it in but hadn't drawn Batman's face at all. Completely blanked on drawing Batman's head, so he just rushed it.

Agreed. A lot of the rough stuff looks (to me, an untrained eye) like sloppy communication issues with pencils/inkers and colorists, maybe from structure of DC at the time?

But then there's squishy head Batman that just looks like a deadline gently caress-up, as you say.

I'm starting to dig in to Volume 2, and it's a clear jump in artistic quality in the first few issues. Looking forward to posting more Good Art here to appreciate.

My assumption was always that because it was a big sprawling crossover events with books absolutely having to hit their publication dates, plus there being so many books and creative teams involved and having to coordinate, that sometimes scheduling/staffing would break down and some poor artist would have to speedrun their pages just to keep the whole rickety edifice from collapsing, and you end up with some panels looking distinctly undercooked.
