Seconding this channel, it's hilarious and also a good watch A friend recced me this channel and together we watched a Michelin starred chef make rice and another chef fry an egg and we agreed it was half an hour well spent (warning, Japanese only, no ENG subs) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOSbuery6hY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juKZ1S-j1Xc

No cooking in this video. It’s just Shiro Kashiba buying a replacement knife while in Japan. But I find something about it endearing. https://youtu.be/rPXH_otX5Io

Call me basic AF but I love chill videos like this and was relaxing to this channel before going to bed last night. No voice commentary, just checking out how the meal is prepared and appreciating the meal itself. Easy subscription for me.

An excellent channel if you just like to chill out and watch someone cook is Peaceful Cuisine. The "no music" videos are probably perfect to fall asleep to.

The Sporkful podcast released their final episode of their quest to make a new pasta shape. Has reviews by Sohla, Claire, Bill Nye the Science Guy(?) and more. Seems like good stuff! They're selling it here: https://www.sfoglini.com/products/sporkful?token=EC-23F73104BS459691T

my wife wanted corned beef and cabbage as is tradition in the northeast US for st patrick's day. my grocery store was plum sold out (fine by me as i think of it as a waste of a perfectly good brisket), but i picked up all the vegetative accoutrement. i guess im going to try sohla's braised cabbage recipe from food 52 (iirc) tomorrow

Great to hear! I've only done a braised red cabbage before and liked it with cider vinegar IIRC (made it for a Thanksgiving side), but the idea of wedges like that sounded like a really cool idea. Ironically, my wife has basically given up red meat, so if she likes it, it'll be a nice meal to put in my rotation and all because the corned beef was gone. e: video incase it wasn't posted earlier. It is dueling braise recipes; one vegan, one pork https://youtu.be/zp9zjPdksrk Eat This Glob fucked around with this message at 23:10 on Mar 20, 2021 |
