I never even connected the dots that he was using it because of the iconic TLC spot to Jeff Hardy, I thought it was just because he was fighting larger opponents and couldn't use his other finishers as easily on them.

Edge's spear is good I like it. It's a different type of spear than Goldbergs obviously, but one that isn't devoid of merit. The Flatliner is a dogshit finisher, poo poo on my shoes.
