Here's the thing, I'm a feminist.

In my mahogany study, pipe clenched between my teeth, tobacco smoke billowing at a furious rate, wearing a stick of chalk to a nub against a full wall blackboard, drawing lines between equations and obscure notations, trying to find an exit strategy, any exit strategy, for wearing a mask in public and washing my hands more frequently

I don't have an exit strategy because I don't consider wearing a mask or not going to restaurants to be such an insane hardship that I need one. I'll stop wearing a mask when COVID isn't everywhere, and if that doesn't happen then I won't stop wearing a mask.

I think a lot of the liberal commentariat realize in the back of their mind that "normal" is going to become an exceedingly scarce resource this decade. Most of their desire to return to normal stems from trying to placate this cognitive dissonance by forcing normalcy where it no longer exists. It's really sad and they clearly have a lot of uninvestigated trauma, I hope they seek therapy.

When a Krispy Kreme Donuts opened in Seattle back in like 2000 it was just like that, and Krispy Kreme isn't even that good unless you're getting a hot glazed donut off the line

I don't see why sympotmatic vaccine breakthrough cases wouldn't be infectious to others? Given the existence of asymptomatic spread it may be higher but that seems like a good baseline, which is like 3-4% based on this study: https://yourlocalepidemiologist.substack.com/p/outbreak-after-a-vaccination-campaign

So significant reduction but not zero seems like a reasonable assumption till proven wrong imo
