Overall I loved just as much as I did back when it came out, super solid horror-comedy and Sawa sells the physical stuff really well I've been rewatching a ton of 80s-2000s things since I started working at home from COVID and it's crazy how often gay jokes are used. Currently watching Malcolm in the Middle and man, there's one in every other episode. Just accepted back in those days a lot more.

I'm not gonna tell anyone they're wrong for Not Liking Thing but complaining about the lack of animation in something as dry and short-form as Way of the Househusband seems a bit weird. It didn't even occur to me that anyone would mind, because the show is so drat good anyway

I like my animations with at least a bit of effort. I dunno. I mean, the story looks fine, it seems that it's quite funny and I've heard good stuff about the source material. I'm not saying everything sucks rear end and no one should watch it ever again, but that animation style wasn't for me.

I can't imagine watching the first 2 seasons of DARK and not finishing the 3rd. You might not like the 3rd season ( I loved the entire series), but it does give a satisfactory ending to everything in a very German way. I found the entire thing very beautiful in a tragic way.

Friends, while definitely progressive for the time, had at least one gay joke every episode, usually several. The punchline was usually just that someone was gay, or someone seemed gay.

Yeah not finishing it seems absolutely insane to me. I dont know how you could invest in those 2 seasons and not want to see how it concludes. I genuinely loved season 3 and got pretty choked up at the goodbye between Marta and Jonas. Its not quite as emotionally strong as season 1 and 2 but it is in no way shape or form bad TV by any sane standard.

I said to someone that there's only one joke in the whole of Dark (Woller) but it's a really funny one. I busted out guffawing when it happened.

Were you expecting a literal continuation of TCW with an attempt to replicate the Mandalorian's formula with gruff but likable anti-heroes forced into a quest involving a mysterious Force sensitive child? Because I thought it did that just fine. If you were expecting anything aside from that I dunno what to tell you. I found it decent for what it is. Dee Bradley Baker continues to do a really impressive job voicing a half dozen individual literal clones without all sounding the same. This episode had a lot of table setting, but a fair amount of stuff actually happened so I wasn't that bothered. My biggest complaint was probably Freddie Prinze Jr. reprising his character from Rebels. Seems like a nice idea on paper, but drat is it incongruous to have a child character speak with a gruff middle age man's voice.

I think some people are not liking the characters looking like rambo, grumpy, smarty little kid, ,etc. I havent seen their clone wars episodes but from the comments from other fans the characters got amazingly fleshed out. Also this is a kiddies cartoon so never expect anything too deep. In my case I liked it, I'm instantly adoring Echo (poor guy), and by the look of the second episode this is gonna be about space dads rising their child and i'm all for it. I mean, I definitely dislike the looks of the characters but I figure I could get past that if the content is great. TCW had a good number of undeniably great episodes and was an admirably ambitious show with very cool nontraditional storytelling. That being said, I only watched about half the episodes and I only dug half the episodes I watched. I hated Rebels, too, so the ties with that show aren't exactly selling me. I guess it's still a "wait and see" for me. Thankfully I don't feel obligated to watch all the Star Wars things anymore.

Speaking of old dudes in shows, Good Girls feat. Christina Hendricks and Mae Whitman. Holy crap I want to punch Mathew Lillard in his puffy face. Which means he's doing a great job, I don't confuse the actor with the performance but punchable, he is.

I think that kind of worked with the major humvee fight where the camera is showing what the little kid would see but it doesn't work or is really inconsistent for the rest of the movie. Regardless if what I am trying to say makes sense, I loved Sicario and was super bummed that day of the soldat didn't live up to it. Ah. Makes sense. And it shouldn't be surprising that Sicario 2 didn't live up to the hype. The first was fantastic and Denis Villeneuve is one of the best directors around. Still thought that it was a good movie. And for those wondering. It is on Fubo.

The what I guess was a rubber suit of the bad guy had me in stitches. I'm on the second episode, I dunno about the comic book, but the show seems to be more about the family drama of being a superhero but without edginess, wackiness or people going punch punch at all times, and the gore is less than The Boys. Waaay less. Most of the time the characters are not wearing their hero suits. I have no clue if there's gonna be more action scenes sometime. Edit 2: There two action scenes but in episode 1. On episode 2 it has turned to drama, and flashbacks of Utopian's past. Gonna try to see watching and I dunno. Let's see if it surprises me. Edit. The pacing is absolutely terrible. It feels like the entire 8 episode season should have just been the first episode. Also, in case you're wondering if the stupid part set in the past ever becomes the slightest bit interesting or tells you anything you don't already know or would immediately assume, the answer is no and I guess it actually gets less interesting as it goes on and feels like it's just killing time until the characters get their powers (honestly that isn't even really a spoiler but spoilered just in case) which is unfortunate because it just keeps going on and wasting an insane amount of the show's runtime. Honestly almost everything that happens in the show is completely uninteresting and when something interesting occasionally happens it's like done in 2 seconds to go back to more repetitive boring stuff. Edit: Honestly, so little happens that if someone was like "spoil the whole season for me" I'd pretty much have nothing to tell them? I almost feel like saying it should have all been one episode is an understatement, like maybe the whole season should have been the first 5 minutes of the first episode? mystes fucked around with this message at 02:44 on May 8, 2021 |

Superheroes but "adult" has been run into the ground so much that it's no longer novel, it's just the default expectation to have for a superhero show or movie.
