I was just listening to the most recent Hollywood Handbook episode and they start out with a long riff about playing the Mystic River videogame.

Why is Mystic River in the air right now? Did it just get added to Netflix or something? Haven't thought about that movie in forever.

I think I saw it when it came out but I remember nothing.

It's on HBO Max, I got it recommended as the first in the list for "Mystery" when I was in a rare mood to watch a serious 2+ hr movie.

I had put it off for a long time, not sure why. I think it gave off a vibe to me that it would be painfully slow, this from just the name, blurb, cover, and length.

Laura Linney was amazing in mystic River. Everyone was good, but she’s the only performance I really remember.

I loved Tim Robbins in it.

Gonna watch Army of the Dead in the theater today after work, even though its out on netflix today. I think its a movie thats gonna be much better in a theater. And its gonna be empty since everyone will just watch it at home.

Might get birria tacos afterwards.

Yeah, only cinemark theaters have it near me, which is fine since I have their movie club thing and their theaters here aren't bad. I'll probably do Quiet Place 2 there also since my movie credit is coming up next week.

I started my movie club sub just before I watched the demon slayer movie last month, since the ticket would've been like 13-14 bucks anyways (sub is 10 dollars a month with one free ticket each month and other perks). I'm fully vaccinated in a well vaccinated county so theres not much risk there either

When I was 18 or 19 and a college freshman I would help this cute girl out with math and I think she knew I was into her, but I didn’t pursue it cause I didn’t want to be like that or make it awkward. It was almost like an informal professional relationship.

Anyway, one day she invited me to dinner. And I was like hell yeah in my head. I get to the restaurant we agreed to meet at....and she introduced me to her family and her boyfriend. It turns out she was some crazy religious type and I never knew cause we only really talked about math.

It was a loving ambush conversion attempt lol

I have visible tattoos and had a mohawk and septum piercing when I was 18/19 so she musta picked me out as not the religious type.

I still stayed for dinner cause it was some restaurant in a casino on the strip and they were buying. After dinner I said goodbye and went and got drunk somewhere. I obv never talked to her again

the first date I ever went on when I was 13 I told my date I was poor as gently caress and we didn't have the money for me to buy movie tix so she said she'd pay. We get to the theater, she buys a ticket for herself and walks in alone. we had been dropped off, so I had to wait 2 hours by myself for my mom to come back around and get us

The very first date I ever went on was with two women simultaneously, both of them thinking the other one was a friend I already knew who was just going to the event with us, but I'd never met either of them before.

The first thing they said to each other was, "So how do you know Tip?"

Lemon is what they come with.

They gave me three types of salsa, as well as the sauce/marinade with the birria tacos. its just not in the pictures. Two of those tacos with the lengua are tripas. The birria tacos were really what the place is known for, they're really good. I just wanted to try their other meats since I'd never gotten them there
