Oh my god the new Jessie Ware What's Your Pleasure? (Platinum Pleasure Edition) is SO good. SO disco.

Pale Blue Light is the best song on the album imo and giving me some real Prince/90s Mariah vibes

I can't believe she didn't include it in the single album release.

Nobody has ever responded to my Maisie Peters posts in here before I assume because you’re all terrible heathens but nonetheless I persevere.

She’s had a busy year. First she released a soundtrack for the second season of the Apple TV+ show Trying, which was extremely good:

https://youtu.be/NSCBMFhunJ4
https://youtu.be/6rHM6Cw0j78
https://youtu.be/K_88BkhJq7o

It also has songs with Griff and Bear’s Den.

Then TODAY she announced her first album, out in August! The first single has been out for a bit already:

https://youtu.be/1Eg8em_VHt4

And along with this announcement came the news that she’s signed to Ed Sheeran’s label Gingerbread Man Records! I’m not really a Sheeran fan but this is nonetheless a huge and exciting career glow up.

Plot twist: there are no extra lyrics, just a 5 minute guitar solo

I always thought the 10-minute version was just a throwaway comment that got out of hand. Like sure she wrote like 10 minutes' worth of verses but never intended to use them all. You can't really add a load of extra verses in without changing the structure of the song. Is the bridge going to be like 8 minutes in now?

But I'm generally in favour of Taylor doing experimental things, maybe it will be the new Desolation Row

That's a bit of a blow to the people still holding on to woodvale.

I'm not expecting 10 minutes of All Too Well to actually work as a song, but hopefully all the writing is similarly good. This is probably the album I'm most excited for, musically speaking its my favourite.

My favorite thing about this is Courtney Love getting mad about it and calling Olivia out because “she did the prom thing first”

Even ignoring things like Carrie, how do you claim PROMS?

Madonna also had an Instagram story yesterday where she claimed she “did it first” because Lil Nas X kissed someone of the same sex at an award ceremony. So so cringey, even if it was a joke (hard to say when it comes to Madonna)

A black male kissing a man at a BET award show is a cultural MOMENT, not a straight woman doing it because it’s cute.

These older acts need attention I guess.

It's a piece of JUNK!
I say this with genuine concern, I don't think Courtney Love is doing great. Probably can't blame her considering the decades of speculation about her (which feels crazy to me because it doesn't seem like she was even actively doing stuff for more than a couple of years, I guess you had to be there). But like, a few weeks ago she was trying to start something with Trent Reznor, with all kinds of vague accusations, and then she pretty much immediately walked it back completely when someone tried to follow up on it. So this kind of feels like the sort of thing we're all better off ignoring.
