The local animal shelter has opened back up and they are allowing regulars to walk dogs again.  So three times a week, I get to walk 2-3 dogs now. Dogs like this one:    Or this one:   Or this little black hole that's really hard to catch on camera:  Life's pretty good right now.

We had a MAXIMUM OVERBORK situation earlier when Kiki left her breakfast to beg for my lunch, and kimchi moved in to sit between her and her breakfast. The 50 lbs pit bull barked at the 15 pounds orange cat from a very safe distance until I came and rescued her food.

Due to the heatwave, Hana is now volunteering for cold showers after walks. She's always been reasonably good at going into the shower, but always had to be asked and never seemed to enjoy it. Today she walked into the shower on her own and clearly wanted to cool down. (She has had several cold showers over the last week due to the heat)
